    1. Don't be stupid.
    b. Seriously,all of the below advice is just a variation on this.
    2.Do not use Internet Explorer for browsing, but rather Firefox, Opera (who still uses this?) , or Chrome.
    3. Make sure you install all updates, no matter how repetitive it gets.
    4. If you don't need it, uninstall Java.
    5. Enable two-factor authentication on your accounts.
    EXPERT:Use EMET or Sandboxie to sandbox all your applications.
    6.Install Anti-virus as well as a firewall on your machine.
    EXPERT: Use a linux live CD for banking and/or if you are up to it, install it as your main OS.
