  • Peculiar problem

When ever I start my browser, Firefox, it opens on the last page I visited. I have a home page set and the option to start on that home page, but nope. Any ideas?
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Have you double checked your firefox settings to make sure it only opens a new tab. Sometimes, you can get both of them mixed up.

That's how IE works also. If you want the home page, there should be a button that looks like a house. At least that's the way IE is designed.

The settings are the same as always. And, yes, my little home button still takes me home, but why does it suddenly not work the way it always has. I shut the computer down because I had to turn off the power for a while. When I rebooted I got the last page I was on. Checked the settings, and nothing has changed. I turned it off and on again, but to no avail. I am on the verge of reloading Firefox.

Firefox homepage hijacked. I'm not remembering what I did to fix it. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968030 May give a solution. Some unwanted toolbar had hijacked my home page. Also check out: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_...config_Entries

Did you configure it to automatically restore the previous session upon startup?

But Jed said whenever he hits the home page button, he gets what he wants.

Not intentionally. Where would I go to check that configuration. I have not found any such option. All I did was to shut down. When I powered up my new situation prevailed.

if firefox crashes instead of ending normally, it will restore the last tabs you were on. also you can set it to go to the last page you were on or your saved homepage under general settings.

click on tools, then options, then on the general settings check "when firefox starts" to see if it is set to "show my home page" or "show my windows and tabs from last time"

I always keep it set to open with my home page. I have had a crash which reloads (or attempts to reload - rarely it fails) the tabs open upon the crash. Not my situation - I have wondered it whatever does try to reload the last page up might somehow be involved, but I do not see how - of course I do not know enough to see how.
