My first computer was the Compaq SLT-286. It was fabulous. A friend of mine is going to get it working again so I can start updating my thesis when I retire.

I don't think I had a floppy drive -- I just used a cassette tape recorder (that I already had) to store my BASIC programs.

    First computers

Let's post ads from the first computers we ever owned.

My first computer was an Atari 400. Complete with 8K of memory and a cassette deck to load programs with! Got it in 1980.

I later moved on to an Atari 800XL, then an Amiga 1000, Amiga 3000 and then on to building my own PCs.
