My immediate needs are pretty minimal - Writing and blogging, social media engagement - and I am aware that most anything that runs Win 10 can handle that. But I am hoping to rather quickly get into podcasting and vlogging and I think I have underestimated what I will need to spend upfront.
In the other thread Sparky had found a serviceable machine in the upper range of my current budget. I'm good with that - I had initially planned on buying a better machine later. However, later is relative.
I need to buy a machine this week to get started - I'm getting well past what I can do without it - and anything that runs Win 10 will do. But if I wait a month on the machine with video editing capability I can spend in the $500 range instead of the $300, if I don't spend a lot now.
So I am thinking that buying something in the $100 range today and buying the better machine in June is the wisest course. I am looking at this machine - it should be fine for my immediate needs. My only concern is the 4GB RAM. That seems low even for my minimal needs and way too low for me to pass it on to a young friend of mine who wants to do animation.
