  • Thoughts on Remote Access for Phones

Seriously considering having remote access to my father's phone. He is in the veterans home on lockdown and doesn't really know how to do things on his phone and I want to install things like Zoom. The staff won't (and shouldn't anyway!) do it for him.

Thoughts? Obviously I would have to do things the hard way to install the remote app to begin with...

It is possible to do that. I guess you are doing something different from automatic answering of the phone.

If he has an Android, you could probably help him set up one app to let you install others. Here's a link for that one app: https://www.androidcrush.com/remotel...ps-on-android/

or is there any other veterans skilled in this or is there a pastor that does services for them?

Another option would be to preload a phone for him and send it to him. They really should have live visits though.

There is jitsi as an option for video conference.

They are in quarantine to prevent COVID19 among the residents although the ones living in the domiciles have greater freedoms. In person visitors are allowed only for hospice patients. We can visit through the glass only.

Dad has got the hang of Duo but doesn't have Zoom installed. By policy the staff can't help with that sort of thing. I'm thinking of something like your suggestions ... dad sometimes does mess with settings on the phone so this kind of app might help with fixing his goofs...but he doesn't follow instructions as well as he used to.

Forgot to mention he also has a tablet which I think the Zoom should really go on anyway.
