That is standard Drunken Sailor Fare in Yokosuka. Also known simply as "beef bowl".

Should be "Rumors of Beef Bowl"

I'm always still in trouble again

I never really liked the bowl, they had a minute steak meal that was pretty good. Beef, bowl of rice, miso, mini salad.

Though Pepper lunch was the good fast food near us, and in the mall near base was a very good Korean BBQ restaurant that we loved.

I like a big bowl of "House Chow Mein" myself. Beef, pork, chicken and shrimp with the noodles -- although such a dish is more likely found in the U.S. or Britain that Southeast Asia

I would like to try the ramen noodle recipe made famous by the anime/manga character Naruto (from the series of the same name), called Ichiraku Ramen after the fictitious roadside stand/restaurant Naruto frequents.

Never been a huge anime fan myself, so honestly, I've heard Naruto, but never seen it.

He's one of those incredibly loud-mouthed, always shouting, not-very-bright -- but with a NEVER give up attitude -- heroes that the genre appears to love so much.

Of course the concept of a ninja running around in a bright orange jumpsuit, wearing a headband identifying him as a Ninja from his village, and yelling nearly everything he says, is something you have to overlook as well.

                Lol.

Do know one anime joke though.

How many Dragonball Z characters does it take to change a lightbulb?

Just one, but it'll take him 3 episodes to do it.

When I first heard of "anime" (here on Tweb), I Googled it, found a sample, and was .... um.... I guess there's a lot of anime porn.

I take it it's not all like that?

It seemed to have similarity to the AstroBoy cartoon -- but without the porn.

Just three? More like an entire story arc chock full of back stories.

Um, no. Although there is that portion of it and some of it is weird in the extreme.

Most fall into one of five categories.

Shonen: primarily for younger males and typically starring a muscular hero usually with enhanced abilities and who love to get into fights

Shojo: primarily for younger females and typically emphasizing romance and relationships. Think "chick flick" cartoons.

Seinen: very similar to Shonen but for an older audience and also with more discussion on a variety of topics from politics to philosophy.

Josei: very similar to Shojo but for an older audience and emphasizing more realistic relationships.

Kodomomuke: primarily for young children. Expect loud, flashy and silly but with less than subtle moral messaging

This is a very general breakdown as many fall into gray areas between these groups, and others are just too unique to categorize. There are also other breakdowns within these groups as well.

Thnking back over some of my favourite anime - DearS (a bit of H but so over the top ridiculous), Haikyuu (shonen, though the hero is pint sized), The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Taishou Yakyuu Musume, Nadesico, Suzuka, Nana, Figure 17, Ah my goddess, Full Metal Panic, Toaru Majutsu no Railgun, Kenshin - though the author is disgraced and the studio pulled the series. and movies Spirited Away, Kimi no Na wa?

                        Nothing like a full list

And - oh yeah - We've kind of derailed the thread a bit more than a bit here.

Some of my favorites off the top of my head... And in no particular order

Samurai Champloo, Blade of the Immortal, Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Requiem From the Darkness (boy did that rapidly progress into some dark topics!) ... Samurai 7, Afro Samurai, and Rurouni Kenshin along with a bunch of SOA movies from the 90s nobody ever heard of. I also liked the original Ninja Scroll (it went quickly down hill, especially the series), Death Note, Black Lagoon, the various Ghost in the Shell series (talk about deep discussion on what defines life and humanity!), Yu Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist (both versions), JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (although the mafia adventures weren't as good) and Cowboy Bebop ... and I'll always have a soft spot for Fairy Tail, Inuyasha, Black Clover and even Yu-Gi-Oh!

But things like Hamtaro, Shin Chan and Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo leave me cold. I didn't like FCLC either.

Always use safe search when looking up anime pictures. Heck, do that with anything animated at all because of things like fan art. Pretty much any series can be taken to lewd extremes on the internet.

Anyway, Japan is a lot more comfortable with seeing people naked. They even have public bath.

However, not all anime is like that. Speed Racer is another you are probably familiar with. There is a lot of stuff in the same level of family friendly as those two still. Although some of the stuff intended for younger audiences over there can still have some content that would not be considered appropriate over here. The versions we get are usually censored.
