  • Gimme that extra credit

Alright so for my Economics class we're doing a game that'll give us extra credit on our final test at the end of the year.
For the most part I don't really get what I'm doing but some how I'm ranked 6th so far: http://prntscr.com/6ub4sv
I'm wonder whom among you are really strong or at least know a thing about investing to help me out(no this isn't cheating)?

So far this is what I've put shares into:

So yeah if you know what I should buy/sell or whatever companies I should research into that help would be appreciated.

This isn't Economics. This is one game in the global casino where to win you need at least of the following: fortune, years of training or experience, insider knowledge or high-speed trading programs.

What's the criteria for credit? If it's just finishing in the top x places you should follow the strategy for novices: not play at all. Consider how at this point your return is 0.59% and you're 6th, which means that it is very likely that most of your class has made a loss.

Oh, and if any millionaire Twebbers contact you let us know so we can get rid of that 'we need donations for tweb' banner above.

You can go ahead and use my stock screener chart if you think it will help. You can take any stock that shows a consistent upward trend and be in pretty good shape. One in particular you should look up is Knight Transportation (KNX). Hope this helps in someway.

Stop listening to these deceptive sirens, and bid it all on Papa Johns. Pizza is big, I'm tellin' ya, it's a sure thing.

            rogue tech FTW.

Unfortunately both rogue tech labs and rogue tech industries don't take outside investmentifications.

I'm always still in trouble again

Well if you guys would ever hire me, you wouldn't be in the red right now.

Bet the whole market. ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) are funds that have a combination of stocks that are designed to follow the various markets, like NASDAQ, S&P 500, etc.

It minimizes your risks and gives a fairly good return. Individuals stocks can give you higher returns in the short run, but are very volatile and carry a lot of risk of failing. Overall, the markets themselves tend to go upwards, but at a slower pace.

I have a lot of my stocks in ETF funds, like IWR ISHARES RUSSELL MID-CAP ETF

But if you only have a short time for this game, then you might need to take more risks and go with individual stock, which is more of a shot in the dark if you don't really know the markets. I can't really give you any good advice on those.
