If Pope Francis is fit for such a job as Pope, he knew what he was doing to invite Kim Davis.
On the other hand, he is just another politically and sociologically useless saint if he did not know. Here again, Kim Davis seems to be the litmus test. Judicial activists persecuting her as a Christian opened my eyes to get me out of the Democrat Party and out of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). (I'm now North American Lutheran Church, NALC.)

Apparently the Pope and Grassi had fallen out over the introduction of same-sex marriage in Argentina, back when Francis was a cardinal there. They are apparently back on good terms, although the Pope did not mention gay marriage during this reunion.

Speculation now seems to be rampant as to who exactly engineered the meeting of Kim Davis with the Pope. Apparently her lawyer is friends with someone in the US Catholic church, and so suspicion is that the meeting was arranged by them without the Pope having any clue who he was meeting or what the significance of it was.
Yes, it's clear that Davis' supporters had "overblown" the encounter to their own advantage...as an assistant to Lombardi, the Rev. Thomas Rosica, said. In effect Davis and co have been lying about it's significance.

The truth now seems to be fully out, that the meeting was arranged by Kim Davis' attorneys, Liberty Counsel, who after telling lies last month about an alleged 100,000 people prayer rally in Peru (of all places) in support of Kim Davis, subsequently used an anti-gay US Catholic archbishop to schedule her into a meeting with the Pope, during which the Pope didn't know her from a bar of soap, and then they said creative things about how much the Pope had supported her cause.

References? (And if you're right, refer to my #31 dismissing Pope Francis to Limbo or well, for him I guess, Heaven)
