  • The Donald and Crazy Bernie

Up here in New England Bernie Sanders is known affectionately as "Crazy Bernie." Just so you know. In any case I find the rise of Trump and Sanders very interesting. I believe right now Trump leads in the polls in North Carolina (a southern state). Whatever you think of these two guys, on opposite ends of the political scale, I think something is happening out there. People are tried of political doublespeak, they want men that speak their minds. And you have that in aces with these fellows. Whether either one goes the distance remains to be seen, but a Trump and Sanders presidential race would be worth the ticket!

I think it just shows that Americans are becoming fed up with politics as usual.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Trump is a clown and everyone ought to know it by now. Sanders is more like the Left's version of Ron Paul.
        Don't call it a comeback. It's a riposte.

But he's a clown straight up - the others are sneaky clowns.

No, we don't call him crazy Bernie for nothing...

And people didn't think Ron Paul was crazy?

Ron Paul, like Sanders, was a man of unquestionable conviction and integrity... even if those convictions fall so far outside the mainstream as to be almost incomprehensible to the rest of us.

A comment I posted elsewhere regarding Trump's popularity:

"It's amazing how simply telling the truth has rocked this nation like a lightning bolt. We've been so desperate for so long for our leaders in Washington to simply tell us the truth that it's absurdly refreshing when someone actually does it. Seriously, it shouldn't be this way."

I still wonder how much truth Trump is telling and how much saying what people want to hear. Illegal immigrations is his big deal. He has pretty recently changed his views on abortion and on gun control. Has he said anything about religious freedom as it relates to the new judicial activism covering homosexual marriage? Bottom line I do not trust this newly minted "conservative."

The man has changed his political affiliation 3 times since 2000. Supported Obama in '08. From what I can tell, he's pretty much just self-serving.

I, as you know seer, am a liberal progressive democrat, the worst kind of democrat from your perspective, and If winning was all that concerned me, I would like nothing more than to see a Sanders vs Trump general election. But I think it would be a very sad thing, to see just how far into the abyss of loonyville the Republican party has fallen should they actually nominate a no substance showman like Trump.

I would love to see Trump get the nomination, as it would both be a stunning indictment of the present day Republican party and because the Democrat candidate would win by miles regardless of who they were. But unless the Republicans decide to field John Kasich as their nominee, I don't think they've got much of a shot of winning the general.

Don't take him seriously. there are so many other people whose opinions and policy proposals are so much more worthy of attention.

MM, if you want someone who will "tell the truth," you'd be better off looking at someone like Kasich or Christie, who by temperament tend to be fairly blunt and who are actually fairly capable policymakers and executives on top of that. Trump's "truth-telling" isn't so much revolutionary as just plain revolting.

But sure, let's support Trump. Not like his finances will make the Clintons' financial questions look utterly beyond reproach by comparison.

N.J. Star Ledger reporter Tom Moran who has covered Christie for 14 years calls him the biggest liar in politics:

                              http://www.woodburydems.com/nj-newsp...ristie-a-liar/

Being blunt doesn't equal being truthful. As far as being a good governor, ask the people of NJ that, no don't bother, just look at his results of his administration. N.J. is a mess. I can't even believe he would bother running on that record, but I guess he knows what I know about much of the voting public. Many of them don't pay to much attention to details.
