Really, tell that to your parents, grandparents and all those whose lives, most likely including your own, were made all the better by the social policies intituted by the Democratic party. It is always an amazing thing to me that people are so naive as to be led to vote against their own best interests, as well as the best interests of the country as a whole, by, and in favor of, the top 10%. Propaganda works, and money is its backbone.

Nonsense, things like Social Security, Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid are unsustainable. And it is not about the top 10%, the real money is in the middle class, and we are being killed by confiscatory tax rates. Just look at my little state of Connecticut we are going bankrupt because of liberal give a ways.

The real money is not in the middle class, it is in the hands of the top 10% which if you bothered to look at the gragh starlight linked to you would know that. People are working harder, recieving less for their work, and all the profits are are going to the top. The state is run by big business and is being forced into more assistance for those in need as a direct result of the unjust business practices. The only reason that the safety net is unsustainable is because of these unjust and greedy business practices, not to mention the loopholes in the tax system that allows them to avoid paying their fair share. You don't like Socialism, which is the wide spread ownership of business by the government, and neither is that what democratic socialism is, but apparently you like the wide spread ownership of government by big business.

Our taxes are getting higher because we keep allowing businesses to hold us hostage to keep the jobs in the US. When NAFTA went through, our area lost a major Auto Glass manufacturer, A major Coffee manufacturer, a major raw dough products manufacturer (think doughboy), and another major manufacturer of medical supplies (bandages, gauze etc). They were replaced with NOT major manufacturers (if the were replaced at all, at least one of these is empty still and the others are less than half full. They were lured here by Tax abatements. Several came and operated until the abatements ended then went somewhere else. Coporate welfare to save our jobs instead of higher tariffs to make them keep them here...You pay more taxes because of it.
