    He can't POSSIBLY be black.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

is this a seer thread? Can't tell from the thread title and there's no thread preview to tell me what the thread is actually about...
        Don't call it a comeback. It's a riposte.

How long until conservatives claim Republicans were for gay marriage?

                    I'd estimate about 50 years.

I presume that the Republicans of that time will emphasize the fact that it was a Republican-dominated Supreme court that struck down the same-sex marriage bans.

Speaking of a black Republican, an article in the Economist titled "Speaking truth to obliviousness" is about Ben Carson speaking truth to the obliviousness of white Republicans ― particularly some of Carson's fellow Republican presidential candidates ―who are oblivious with regard to white racism.

                          See here.

                          Also here.

One of my physicians ― whom I see so often that we have become friends who talk about many things of common interest ― mentioned to me a while back the fact that Ben Carson had announced his intention to run for President. My response was, at that time, rather cynical with regard to Carson's chance of winning the nomination ― my point being that no one has much of a chance of becoming the Republican nominee without the backing of a rather large organization of political operatives and mega donors.

Not that I would not love to see Ben Carson in the White House.

As time goes on, I am becoming less cynical about his prospect for winning the race...

No it is about 19th century politics and slavery. Yes, there were blacks who supported slavery and owned slaves. So what? We are in the 21st century.

In Africa blacks and Arabs were the major slave traders to the USA market.

And the African slave trade is alive and well to this day.
