It's capitalism. If someone has the fortitude to walk out in public wearing one, they deserve the ensuing responses they get.

But the good sheriff of the neighboring county was a black man, and the Dukes always showed him respect.

Wal-Mart would have the right under capitalism to sell pornography too... but I'd be less likely to shop there if they did sell it. I think when he means "okay" he means on a personal level as a consumer and not whether they have the legal right to do it.

Personally, I've never seen anything Confederate-related for sale at Walmart, and I've worked there. It must just be a southern thing.

If we want to ban that flag, then we should actually know what flags the Confederates used:

But, you realize the "flag code" is not law, and is unenforceable, yes?

Yes. If they thought there was a market for it, and they wanted to deal with the PR. Where does this stop?

And, that's what free enterprise is all about. You can vote with your pocketbook.

When I was a kid, we could buy bags of army soldiers - both American and German - and even German toy planes and trucks with Swastikas on them.

Actually, I kind of cheated there. I think pornography should be outright illegal.

On a related note, I remember when I was an early teen, I used to play Arab/Israeli Wars and Panzer Leader/Panzer Blitz.

To be honest, I'm a little frustrated that in general in our society, it's difficult to have a conversation distinguishing between whether something should be illegal or whether it is "okay".
