No, there were a lot of Republicans in the House that voted against it too. Let's hope that it's dead...

The significance is exceptional when it's supposedly your own party base.

              Awesome!

"Despite the intensive campaign, however, Obama struggled to convince more than a sliver of House Democrats to back his push for the fast-track authority."

The disturbing thing is that such a high percentage of the Republican politicians keep trying to vote to give Obama more authority in order to make this trade deal go through so fast that the public doesn't have time to get outraged about the contents of it when they see it.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

The problem shouldn't be what's in it. People clueless about the situation feel it isn't important because they don't know what it's all about (as a result, they tend to give their political representatives the benefit of the doubt). The MAIN issue for everyone (even those clueless about what the bill really entails) should be the idea that our political elected representatives are even thinking about passing a bill that no one is allowed to see. Even if the POTUS and Congress promised that the bill allowed free ice cream for all Americans, the fact that no one can see it (including senators) is political lunacy. I think most people would agree, both left and right, that that isn't how our political system should work.
