"When some homosexual couple comes to your Christian business for services at their immoral event, don’t panic. Go ahead and take their business!

Then explain what is going to happen next.

Tell them that the food and services will be just fine. And then inform them that all of the money that they pay for the services will be donated to a traditional pro-family lobby. If it is something like catering, where your employees have to be there to provide services, tell them that all your people will smile, be professional, and everyone of them will be wearing crucifixes and have the Holy Family embroidered on their uniforms. Then show them pictures of your uniforms. When the truck pulls up, speakers will be playing Immaculate Mary. Show them the truck and play the music.

“Oh, you would be offended by that? I’m so sorry. You approached us because we are Christians. Right? We are happy to provide services for you and we are grateful that you chose to come to our Christian catering business. We just want to be of help.”"

I got a good laugh thinking about this scenario. but it might just work.

If the gay couple are Christian they would probably be quite pleased about all this.

About all their money for catering going to pro-family groups supporting end of gay marriage?

They will ask you to turn off the music and to wear your crosses inside your shirt, and to cover your uniform embroidery when you get there. If you refuse, then they will ask for their money back, if you refuse THEN they will sue you...just like they wanted to all along.

It's difficult to take that threat very seriously. 1. The customer's got no way of knowing whether you'll follow through on it. 2. The customer might suspect you would have contributed to that sort of charity anyway, regardless of anything they did or didn't do. 3. Pro-family groups can waste their breath supporting the end of gay marriage all they like, but it's so abundantly clear at this point that they simply won't win that I struggle to care all that much about them.

My likely reply if I was confronted with that sort of situation would just be to say "hey, bub, it's up to you what you do with your own money, donate it to charity or keep it as you wish, just as you would any of your other money, I'm just paying you for your business services".

Couldn't the personnel simple declare that this was their uniform, and that they didn't have authority to change it. Then when couple tries to get the money back, you can document that you showed them the uniforms.

There's actually a decent point here about whether people do support, or boy cut business that support those agendas you don't support. Makes me want to check statistics on this in the morning.

But you're definitely right that its not a substitution for a legal protection to not support homosexuality.

Both Denmark (where you're apparently from?) and New Zealand (where I'm from) have had laws protecting gay people from business discrimination for decades.

Business discrimination against homosexuals in general is unjust. If a gas store denied someone who is publically gay gas for his van, that would be injust.

But I also think its unjust to force anyone to participate directly, or indirectly in a moral scandale which a homosexual "wedding" ceremony is. And to fine them 150000$ In personal injuries for simple denying a gay couple such a service.
