  • Alabama: Judge Roy Moore's Gay Divorce

Alabama Court Orders a Halt to Same-Sex Marriage Licenses
The Alabama Supreme Court on Tuesday night ordered probate judges around the state to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, ruling in direct opposition to a federal judge that the state’s ban on same sex marriage did not violate the United States Constitution.

In a 7-to-1 decision, the court ruled that “Alabama law allows for ‘marriage’ between only one man and one woman,” and that the state’s probate judges “have a ministerial duty not to issue any marriage license contrary to this law.”

That's 7-1 because Roy Moore abstained from this decision.
This skirmish has gone on since Judge Granade ruled in January that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, which 81 percent of voters approved in a 2006 referendum, was unconstitutional.

The night before her ruling was to go into effect, the chief justice of the State Supreme Court, Roy S. Moore, who abstained from voting in Tuesday’s decision, issued an administrative order insisting that the state’s 68 probate judges refrain from issuing the licenses. He based his reasoning in part on the fact that probate judges were not defendants in the case before Judge Granade.

It's hard to believe any of these folks think they'll prevail in the end. But in the meantime, I hear all of Canadia is rejoicing at the chance for their southern cousins to be pointing and laughing at someone else.

It is good to see at least some judges standing up to leftist tyranny.

Though it looks like evil will win in the end.

Oh no, the evil of two men filing joint taxes! The tyranny of a woman visiting another woman in the hospital! When will the madness end?

              With children?

As to the Alabama Supreme Court ruling... The bizarrely extra-judicial nature of this order by the Alabama Supreme Court takes the cake.

So apparently the Alabama ruling is a 148 page self-contradictory ramble put together in a hurry by multiple judges, meaning a lot of its arguments contradict other arguments.

In the most amusing part they assert that:
                1. The US Supreme Court was wrong in its Windsor decision.
                2. The US Supreme Court was wrong to not allow religious arguments to be used in court.
                3. Without religion there can't be any objective morality, so the US Supreme Court's moral reasoning is therefore inherently suspect.

They sound a lot like posters on this forum...

OMG, there was a pedophile in the world, more news at 6.

I bet there's never been any Christians convicted of pedophilia... oh, wait...

More like libruls couldn't even write a propaganda fluff piece without tripping over a pair of gay rapists.

There are a bunch of gays in the Catholic church who shuffled each other around while raping kids, but that just further makes my point.

I have shown you time and time again that all the scientific data shows you're wrong. Gay people do not molest children at higher rates that straight people. Gay people are not any kind of danger to children. Your pathological need to lie repeatedly about this subject, and engage in baseless slander and rumor mongering, gets boring.

No, quite the opposite, I have shown you that the data shows exactly what I claim, which is that gays molest kids at far higher rates than straight men and the "data" you shown me was itself savagely molested by progressive fronts without a shred of scientific credibility like the APA who laughably redefines men who molest children as being by definition not gay. Then you have the Catholic Church (whose priesthood is notoriously gay) child rape scandal, that mostly consisted of gay priests having sex ("consensual" or otherwise) with teenage boys. The fact that you continue to insist, like the APA does, that the high levels of male teenage prostitution and rape are actually the product of straight men raping them is both laughable and an indication of how depraved you and the rest of the progressive blight are. And gays are not the only area in which you degenerates promote child rape, progressives routinely hijack sexual education and entertainment to groom kids into becoming sexually active, preferably at as early an age as possible, flooding Britain (and probably many other countries) with third world child molestation groom gangs, etc. The entire progressive movement is basically one giant child molesting ring.
"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." Isaiah 3:12

It's funny, years and years ago the thought occurred to me that the sexual revolution was, at bottom, about adults getting at children sexually.

Starlight, this is coming as a semi-formal notice from a moderator. We do not allow people to flame others with accusations of lying. While you attempted to substantiate what you were claiming, that is not a lie. Disputes over data are just that - disputes. Please tone down the accusations of lying.

Darth, we are relaxing the accusations of lying rule a bit so we mods don't have to take additional time to determine if the accusation was sufficiently substantiated. We are modding stand alone claims of lying still, so please 1) continue to report those and 2) don't take it as a license to return a salvo of your own

***If you wish to take issue with this notice DO NOT do so in this thread.***
Contact the forum moderator or an administrator in Private Message or email instead. If you feel you must publicly complain or whine, please take it to the Padded Room unless told otherwise.
