I ended a discussion in agreement with someone when we started from differing points. It was a pleasure.

I made it from my house to the Church where I serve with ZERO red lights --- that almost never happens!

In other news, the "El Camino" (My Congregation's name, "The Way") Youth Choir was a hit. Much wonderfull singing was to be had, voices blended magnificently. I am mighty proud to form part of such grand chorus.

I don't know what this Common universal good that your appealing to is, but it sounds disappointing. And how cute, another one who thinks egocentrism is some sort of inherent fault.

Your error lies in appealing to a some "universal" sense of good, which independent if it actually even exists, is hardly a something the world is unanimous about (Phank's post of growth in particular actually stirs regret and lamentation for me). "Positive in the world", "something that shows humanity CAN rise to the occasion", these are expressions that express a deluded commitment towards "Common Good" for all humanity, as if it unanimously shares such a notion.

In contrast, Darth Executor uses a far more unequivocal criteria; "post things that make YOU feel good". No asinine appeals towards "Common Good", no silly pre-suppositions of "What is good for the world and mankind", just pure unadulterated subjectivity that needs no questioning or consensus of a single human soul. Compared to yours, the criteria does not lend itself to any subjective or personal understanding of "Good" or "Positive".

And what makes you think that Darth Executor is unable to give joy? Reading some of his critiques actually stirs joy in me. And considering you have don't know him personally, attributing him with unsubstantiated assertions is not a very wise to thing to do. And I must admit, Epo's first post on your original thread made me laugh ever so much. Taking your idea and turning it on it's head to what Epo believes is good, fairly cheeky and hilarious . Sobering mockery can be a delightful thing, yes indeed (And a good critique against the discourse that naively puts stock towards "The Common Good".

But you don't care to what the man says. Your defiant gesture of spreading tales of kindness and goodness is one of your things apparently. All well and good I guess, the "Feel Good Porn" I guess stirs some hearts to warm feelings and gestures, in some it is lovely mental masturbation, whilst in others it is a cause of personal grievance, and others, with an indifferent Ho-hum. But look! Aawwwnnn, he amened your tale of the Huff. What a nice kid.
I will go with the growing sense of the Common universal good (one small step for each human may one day result in a giant leap for the common good for all of humanity), instead of egocentric 'what is good to or for ME!'
