Did you know that the American Christians with guns are seen by just about everyone else as probably the truly maddest people on the planet? Bible and guns – it’s a bit of a mixed message don’t you think?
I would say Christians are less likely to go around carrying handguns than non-religious Americans. Why do you have to try to denigrate Christians with your every post?

How do you get away with it?
We call it "the Constitution" and it is how we kicked your country's butt in the Revolutionary war. Deal with it.

The Americans were determined to stay out of Europe until the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbour. Who is to say that the Anglo-Russians would not have eventually defeated Hitler?

“The final payment of the Anglo-American loan $83.3 million was made on 29 December 2006 (the last working day of the year). After this final payment Britain's Economic Secretary to the Treasury formally thanked the U.S. for its wartime support."

"Tacit repayment of Lend-Lease by the British included several valuable technologies, including those related to radar, sonar, jet engines, nuclear weapons, antitank weaponry, rockets, superchargers, gyroscopic gunsights, submarine detection, self-sealing fuel tanks, and plastic explosives.”

Yeah. But without guns, we would never have stood a chance. And we armed not only the military but the civilians too who made a big difference in the war. That is why we have guns as part of our constitution.

You should come over here and find out.

Around here, we mostly have rifles and shotguns. And we use them to hunt and for protection (usually against bears and such). And they are a heck of a lot deadlier than some pistol.

but as far as being "over it" - that ain't gonna happen.

I didn’t say that. Certainly, Britain wanted the US to enter the war but the US stayed neutral as long as it could. “Although the war began with Nazi Germany's attack on Poland in September 1939, the United States did not enter the war until after the Japanese bombed the American fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941.”

“On December 11, 1941, the United States Congress declared war upon Germany; only hours after Germany declared war on the United States following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.”

The chances are that Britian/Russia/France would have defeated Germany in the long run even without American troops. America had its own reasons for entering the war. Obviously, American involvement shortened the European war. I think that we would not have coped without American industrial strength. 40 billion dollars of lease-lend kept the supplies coming.
