I'm capable of seeing that idjuts who want to carry guns on campus deserve whatever pushback they get, however small it might be. In this case it was small: move somewhere else. That's hardly the curtailing of rights and not nearly a Gestapo beatdown.

They were told to move by paranoid people who were probably afraid the students might be packing heat. Certainly, it was an overreaction, but I'd hardly call it limiting free speech.

Only an equally paranoid idiot would call it "Gestapo tactics."

Whag, you are an intelligent fellow.

    1. The fact that a modicum of hyperbole was used does not invalidate the point in any way.

    2. The Gestapo did not always use maximum tactics, so the hyperbole was indeed mild.

No they were trying to prevent students from handing out copies of the Constitution. Oh the horror!

    More Gestapo Tactics

Why is it always the left trying to curtail speech? What are they afraid of?

University officials threatened to call the police and disciplinary action against students who were passing out copies of the U.S. Constitution at Southern Oregon University (SOU) last week.

A group of four students at SOU handed out copies of the Constitution on campus Tuesday while collecting signatures to end the university’s restrictive speech policies, which limit free speech to an area that totals less than one percent of campus. While doing so, the students were approached multiple times by school administrators and campus police who all asked the students to move to a different area of campus...

...School administrators threatened to call the police on the students when the group did not leave. One of the students in attendance told Campus Reform that some administrators resorted to “personal attacks” and threatened disciplinary action.
