Those countries are not headed by community organizers.

Who called it? I called it.

      As Vox says:

Apparently travel to and from West Africa is more important than keeping Ebola out of the country

Because those flights tend to carry several passengers who are American citizens, and because America's medical personnel and facilities are infinitely better suited to treat and combat Ebola than the medical infrastructure in those West African nations. In other words, a person has a significantly better chance of survival in the US than in poverty-stricken West Africa.

I have no problem letting American citizens come back - then be quarantined for a month off the plane, but no one else. But we have regular flights with no quarantine and who knows how many people are infected in the US now. This is why I say that Liberalism will kill you.

                  Wow. This isn't good.

Ebola Patient Initially Released By Mistake
Even though a sick patient later diagnosed with Ebola told an emergency room nurse at a Texas hospital that he had recently traveled from West Africa, the nurse failed to pass on that information to other hospital staff, and that man was released from the hospital with antibiotics, officials said today.

The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S. was initially sent home after seeking care at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital for symptoms consistent with the virus on Sept. 26, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Now, experts are asking why he wasn't immediately isolated.

"The CDC says ask anyone with fever whether they have traveled. That's one thing CDC will look at," said Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News chief health and medical editor who is currently in Liberia covering the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

The patient was only hospitalized and placed in isolation two days later after returning to the hospital by ambulance when his symptoms worsened, according to the CDC.

Unbelievable. The staff appears to be stunningly incompetent. They didn't realize that Liberia IS in West Africa? Additionally, I wonder if they suspected that he had a virus. If so, their decision to supply him with antibiotics warrants immediate suspension of medical licenses.

Oh, NOW you start making noises about the need for competence and intelligence in the general population! What a reprehensibly low-effort response from a habitually low-effort individual!

Effective and reliable diagnosis takes time, thought, effort, experience, and follow-up, which medical staff in a large city will not always have on call. Those who should have their licenses to anything suspended, forever, are those who ensure that there are 10,000 Liberians in Dallas right now and not even they could immediately find out who the guy was so they could quarantine themselves first.

The thought anomaly that creates these debacles is systemic, and structural. Remove any trace of it from yourself first, and then I may listen to you empty-moralize about competence in a field that you never cared about previously.

The site to follow for the actual root causes of this issue is not cdc.gov, but Refugee Resettlement Watch.

For instance, they give you the names and faces of the people actually responsible for the conditions:

Demonstrating once again what a sham Temporary Protected Status is, Senators want Obama to extend temporary refugee status to Liberians who have been here “temporarily” since the late 1980’s! Seems to me that the civil war in Liberia is over and this “LEGAL” status for those here originally illegally should just end.

There must be one hell-uv-a lot of Liberians in Rhode Island because I saw Senator Jack Reed spearheading this same effort several years ago. Here he is joined by the usual Senate Open Borders gang.

Check out here what other countries enjoy this “temporary” protection. Liberia is in the Deferred Enforced Departure category. Reed’s press release and letter to the White House on Friday are here.

                    From Political News:

WASHINGTON, DC – In an effort to preserve the status of Liberians living legally in the United States, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) led a letter signed by fourteen of his colleagues to President Obama urging an extension of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED). The current DED extension is set to expire on September 30, 2014, which could cause Liberians living here legally on temporary status to be deported.
Remember, Senator Elizabeth Warren and Jack Reed's open incompetence may be funny, until it becomes tragic:

                      Update:
The partner of Duncan has been quarantined in her Dallas apartment where Duncan became sick with the virus, the woman told CNN's Anderson Cooper. The woman, who asked to be identified only by her first name, Louise, is quarantined with one of her children who is younger than 13 and two nephews in their 20s. The four of them were in the apartment when Duncan became ill, Cooper said.

Louise and her family are in isolation with sheets and towels used by the Ebola-stricken Duncan, Cooper said. Louise did use bleach to clean her apartment, "but it's not clear to me how systematic the cleaning was," he said.
This is insane, to say the least.

Idiotic liberal reasoning, from the head of the CDC:

                          http://foxnewsinsider.com/2014/10/03...t-ebola-threat

"I wish we could get to zero risk by sealing off the border. But we can’t. The only way we are going to get to zero risk in this country is by controlling it in Africa. Until that happens, Americans may come back with Ebola. Other people who have a right to return or a visa to enter may come back. People will go to third countries and come from there. Sealing them off – first off won’t work. Second off, it will backfire. Because if we can’t get help in there, then we’re not going to be able to stop the outbreak and ultimately we will end up at higher risk, not lower risk,"
First of all sealing a country off will work, at least we can lessen our exposure. The fewer people coming here from these infected nations the better. The first rational thing you do to contain an infectious outbreak is to quarantine it the best you can. His second point is completely nuts - you can ban flights from these countries yet make exceptions for health care professionals to go in and help. The man is irrational - and that should scare us all.

Why do they put them together? That could end up infecting people who aren't infected if one of the others has it.
