  • Wings Of Blame

This family took their wheelchair 85 year old mom to the airport and left her in the care of a skycap.

I know from personal experience that family CAN go with their special needs relative all the way to the gate so I lay 99% of the blame at their feet. But really, airport? And whatever company employed the skycap?

Oh, Southwest Airlines! Infamous for their non-assigned seats and the "cattle call".

When I took my Dad and stepmom to the airport, they gave me a non-boarding pass to accompany them all the way to the gate, where I sat with them til their flight was called. I didn't leave til I saw them being wheeled up the ramp.
"Neighbor, how long has it been since you’ve had a big, thick, steaming bowl of Wolf Brand Chili?”

A lot of the comments in this article point that out too...where was the family? ? Some also wonder why mom didn't speak up. Article doesn't say much about it, but I'm guessing an 85 year old person in poor health might not want to make any more trouble than she already is. Then again, my 80 y/o calls everyone between here and Maine if he wants something.

Depends on the corner - she simply might not have had anyone to tell.

I think that may be the polite way of saying "we smacked him/her up the side of the head".

And I don't think the skycap works for the airport...they're usually contractors.
