  • Guess what these two would-be terrorists ordered on Amazon?

Islam for Dummies and the Koran for Dummies.

I don't agree with this article's contention that Islam isn't to blame for terrorism. But this is still very interesting and surprising.

So Islam is to blame for radical left wing terrorists? Various separatist groups? Groups akin to the KKK?

I don't mean for all terrorism, obviously. I thought implicit in my statement was that I was restricting the scope of it to terrorism traditionally ascribed to Islam.

Okay. However I am not sure I would agree with even that. Since people often assume that just because the members of a terrorist organisation are Muslims that terrorist organisation is an Islamic one but some terrorist organizations have political and territorial goals and motivations. Is it really correct to call an organisation that wants an independent Palestinian state an Islamic organisation and to blame its existence on Islam?

What about all the many many many Muslims that aren't terrorists?

I am talking hypotheticals here. If you were to found such an organisation, what would expect the religious background of your member base would be given the demographics in the area?

No, the credited response would be "Universities."

To think as you do one has to be ignorant of Islamic history, starting with Mohammed himself. He started out peaceful, but when that didn't get him what he wanted he moved on to more, terrifying methods. At one point he had between 600-900 Jews executed. Heck, in one of the ahadith* he admits to being made "victorious through terror".

As for the Muslims who aren't terrorists, they are usually either ignorant of Islamic history, afraid to leave Islam for fear of their lives, contributing to terrorists, or very rarely, Quran Only types who try to downplay what's in the Quran itself.

What I don't understand is that, if these guys want a violent, war, slaughter, and conquer religion, is why they always go for Islam. If I wanted such, I would just go all out and worship the Norse or Roman gods.
