Giving back Germany? Not much option ... there were allies to argue the point. (not to mention it was prior to the 1960s, so too early for "modern day") Japan - the allies were told it was a Japan / America war and the allies could butt out ... it still hasn't been given back. Kuwait was defence of a (semi) friendly state. Iraq ... you might have a point there.
So over-stated perhaps, but I'd expect that another killing of a civilian to result in the legions being mobilised.1Cor 15:34 εκνηψατε δικαιως και μη αμαρτανετε αγνωσιαν γαρ θεου τινες εχουσιν προς εντροπην υμιν λεγω

I mean, seriously, ISIS has said if the bombing doesn't stop, they'll behead another.
ISIS Pressed for Ransom Before Killing Journalist
In fact, until recently, ISIS had a very different list of demands for Mr. Foley: The group pressed the United States to provide a multimillion-dollar ransom for his release, according to a representative of his family and a former hostage held alongside him. The United States — unlike several European countries that have funneled millions to the terror group to spare the lives of their citizens — refused to pay.
Looks to me like they're in it for the money. And the women, too, of course.
In Retaking of Iraqi Dam, Evidence of American Impact
Muhammad Karim, one of the soldiers, said that when they arrived at the first abandoned militant checkpoint, they discovered a woman, naked and bound, who had been repeatedly raped. Farther into the neighborhood, the Iraqi forces discovered another woman in the same state.
“ISIS are bad people,” he said, standing beside a demolished compound that hugged the road. “They are raping girls.”
Those soldiers can be bought. Send in the CIA, buy the locations of their leaders, and send in the drones.
Teach them that decapitate has more than one meaning.

Long term, it is the children that must be reached to actually kill this ideology at its root.

A difference in ideology won't necessarily translate to a difference in procedures. And given that HAMAS considers ISIS to be too extreme - it may be that ISIS is even more diligent in its brainwashing practices.1Cor 15:34 εκνηψατε δικαιως και μη αμαρτανετε αγνωσιαν γαρ θεου τινες εχουσιν προς εντροπην υμιν λεγω
