A TV Anchor. Ah yes this will sure settle a lot.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

How is the money from greenhouse gas producing energy not more than the money in alternative energy? It's alternative energy for a reason.

There are very complex reasons, but there is not one wind farm in operation today that is operating at more than 25% efficiency. Not only that, they are subsidized nearly 90% of the cost. For example, a 400 foot turbine that produces maybe as much as 8 or 9 MW of power (at full efficiency) costs on average $3-4 MILLION dollars each to manufacture, build and install. By comparison, a small coal-fired plant will produce 1400 MW of power (and always runs at full efficiency). So, you would need about 150 turbines (at full efficiency, btw) to equal one small coal energy plant in terms of output. It is quite simply, not economically viable. It would be just about as much money to build a nuclear power plant for that kind of money!

Further, when wind turbines are not turning, one needs to quick-start a gas-fired generator to avoid damage to the grid when output plummets (an equilibrium must be maintained for the system to work). Often, the fuel burned (using fossil-fuels, of course) in these back-up generators will offset any carbon savings gained by the wind turbine.

If you read about the Danish and German experiences with wind generation, you will see much of the same thing.

In my opinion, nuclear energy, geothermal and hydro-electricity are the only viable alternatives to fossil fuels at this point. Solar is better than wind in terms of reliability, but still way underperforming (their output is measured in KW).

However, there are HUGE profits to be made in wind farming. I mean, why do you think T. Boone Pickens is investing in it? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

BTW, I should make clear that I DON'T agree with Mr. Moreno about the causes or existence of climate change. I think warming is happening, and we must take action to ameliorate our damage.

I just agree with him about wind farming and some other bogus kinds of "alternative" energy sources.
