Hmmm...
I'm not going to apologize for Huffman's question, but as I read it, it sounds to me like it could have been awkwardly-worded, rather than a suggestion that blacks aren't as clean as other races. I don't actually know the motivation behind the question, either way, though...
It's true that whites get better care at the doctor than African Americans, so it makes sense that this might cause the latter to either avoid going to the doctor, or to not get diagnosed as readily as whites do. This might help explain some of the COVID-19 disparity.

Not surprisingly, your thread title is a little misleading. What he actually said was “the colored population”, which, while still awkward, is not the same as saying "colored people", which is quite obviously unacceptable.
"People of Color" is often used as an attempt to identify a people without being insulting.
Do you believe Huffman was purposely being insulting?
Ohio Legislative Black Caucus President Stephanie Howse (D) did the same thing you're doing --- she phrased it as "the coloreds", which is obviously NOT what Huffman said.
You guys are just trying to find racism where there is none, because, in my opinion, you're racist*.
*I'm being facetious, but it amazes me how far people will go to try to see racism where none is intended. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Although I guess that is the easiest way to 'not' be racist. Just refuse to admit anything actually IS racist. My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26
This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19
