From multiple news sources, I've been reading about police issues in Minneapolis. It includes another shooting of a woman that made national news. The more I've read, the more I've developed sympathy for council that their police department is a mess. However, their solution still seems to be to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Also has anyone else noticed that the liberals have discovered a union they don't like - the police union!

They would be best advised to fire their Police Chief, and give the new guy the authority to fire the bad guys on Day 1. But that probably can't happen because....

I would come down against an actual elimination of police - we need law enforcement.

But I"m all for must stricter training and hiring guidelines, e.g. firing of an officer who purposefully deactivates a body cam when answering a call, anyone with ties to white supremacy is unhirable. anyone with anger management issues is unhirable, etc. Probably have to raise salary though if you have very high standards that will make the average applicant fail to meet requirements. Can't have really good police and really cheap police at the same time.

Why does the police need a "Mine-resistant Troop Carrier?" At least I'll say that if we see them throwing money away at stuff like this it's time to cut down their budget.

These sort of trucks are used by SWAT not regular police. And the reason they need it is such things like the North Hollywood Shootout.
