  • Supreme Court: Do Dems Think This Will Help?

Dems degrade all Republican Supreme Court candidates ...

I mainly remember the problems trying to get appointments for Borg, Thomas, and Kavanaugh. This sort of accusation doesn't seem to have been done by Republicans against Dem's candidates for the Supreme Court.

We can hope there is no bias in the Supreme Court ... but do the Democrats think they can degrade every Republican candidate for the Supreme Court and still expect the Supreme Court to decide favorable for the Dems' position in Supreme Court cases?

We especially saw the apparent false testimony being strategically formed against Kavanaugh. The Dems just go into full slander mode to get what they want.

The next candidates will likely face much harsher treatment.

They have a scorched earth policy with regards to the Court. It worked once so they kept using it.

The Democrats are used to dealing with squeamish Republicans who back down at the first sign of controversy because they've fallen for the lie that liberals and their media allies have to like you if you want to succeed. Trump is there to do a job and doesn't care if nobody likes him, and the Democrats don't know how to coral somebody like that.

Yup, and it may just be rubbing off on the rest of the party.

That could be the single greatest legacy of the Age of Trump.

I really hope they all do "grow a spine" (which could be an even better anagram for "Spiro Agnew" than the one Dick Cavett hilariously noted decades ago).

Perhaps the Republicans should stop nominating wildly inappropriate candidates for judicial positions?

And stop trying to pretend it's the Dem's fault for rightly pointing out the obvious flaws in Republicans' woeful nominees. Try instead asking what is wrong with the Republican party such that so many of its presidential administrations are so full of criminals and so many of its judicial appointments have such obvious flaws.

The media, as well -- they were used to starting with a phony premise, then badgering a Republican into defending the premise. Trump doesn't play that game, and doesn't bow to them like Republicans have in the past.

I think that's why his Tweeting drives them nuts --- he doesn't need them to get his message out. He turns the tables on them and makes them respond, instead of the way it used to be.

I still wish he had a filter for his Tweets, but it's the only way he has to bypass the corrupt media.

"Wildly inappropriate candidate" - anybody who doesn't support the extreme far left nutter fringe.

                    Naw, you can do that.

I watched a lot of the impeachment hearings and the Republicans did not back down!

Which is why poor Nadler often looked dazed and confused, and why a number of the Democrats seemed quite angry that the Republicans didn't buy their "we have the SOLE AUTHORITY......".

I think folks are more concerned with Democrats fabricating evidence and bringing forth bogus witnesses. Nothing has changed among the Democrats since the Kavanaugh confirmation.

As I've said before, Republicans have been hoping for a leader with the guts to finally push back and this is what pushing back looks like.

Except, of course, that they currently seem to be hemorrhaging Independents and voters of color.
