Not at all. I'm glad the public will get to see what a sham it all is.

    • I note, however, that POTUS -- who has never been accused of excessive consistence in messaging -- recently opined that the hearings should not be public.

They would be walking lock step in with the Democrats narrative and saying the Republicans have something to hide.

Don't forget who it was that set the House rules in the first place. That's right, it was the republicans in 2015. And in their "proven to be a sham" Benghazi hearings the most of the testimony was in private sessions.

          • Today democrat Representative Eric Swalwell appears on Face The Nation to discuss his ongoing efforts as part of the impeachment agenda. Within the interview Swalwell has a little Freudian slip highlighting how the House is manufacturing witness testimony:

[@01:17] REP. SWALWELL: "These witnesses have been fairly consistent. And for the most part, they’ve not been coordinating or talking to each other."

Whoops: “for the most part“? Thereby Mr. Swalwell admits the witnesses are coordinating some testimony.

Coordinating in the sense of Sondland, changing his testimony after hearing contradictory testimony.

Jim, that brings all of his testimony into question.

Of course, he was obviously trying to protect someone, and then realized he'd better protect himself from a perjury charge.

No, it merely reveals that Trump’s man felt compelled to change his evidence to conform with the consistent facts as presented by numerous other witnesses or face a probable perjury charge.

No it actually only brings inconsistent parts of his testimony into question. People lie but people don't lie about everything so if testimony is found to be incorrect about one thing it can be generally assumed that anything else that conflicts with other witnesses may be questionable AND any other unique detail that support the witnesses narrative is also questionable.

So if Sondland said anything else that is unique to his testimony and supports Trumps innocence then it's no longer reliable but everything else in line with other testimonies will still be regarded.

                      • By all accounts, Schiff's public impeachment hearing is turning out to be almost as big a bust as the Mueller testimony. Everything is based on "I heard from a guy who heard from a guy" hearsay and personal opinions about policy decisions. So far, there is nothing to even suggest that Trump might be guilty of a crime.

The bolded bit brings up something that Vindman said. That he was worried that Trump is trying to "subvert U.S. foreign policy."

Does anyone care to guess who is it that sets foreign policy (no fair Googling)?

                            It is the POTUS.

And who is it that is POTUS (suck it up "not my president" crowd)?

                            Trump. That's right.

So exactly how does one subvert their own policy?

Some of them are first hand witnesses. But Trump is illegally obstructing justice by prohibiting many of the first-hand witnesses from testifying despite congressional subpoenas (e.g. Bolton, Mulvaney etc). Bolton currently has a case before the courts to confirm that he is legally obligated to obey the congressional subpoena to testify despite Trump's obstructive acts to demand that he not.
