If he has cheated on his taxes, I am all for the IRS to go after him directly. He is being audited right now.
He's always being audited, right? Perhaps he'll release his taxes like he promised to do 4 years ago prior to the next election.

So says the devout supporter of a lawless wannabe dictator.

And I knew that you, being a devout supporter of his, would continue to defend the wannabe dictator regardless of anything he does.

Yep. You need evidence BEFORE you can charge someone.

At this time, unless the courts act to rebuff him, President Trump has pushed the line to the point he is above the law. Yet MM (and others?) are DEFENDING the idea.

Our republic cannot survive if its fundamental principles are violated - especially the principle of separation of powers and checks and balances. Annoying as it might be when those checks get 'in the way' of what our particular party or group might want to happen, we can't yield or give in to the temptation to abandon them for convenience. We can not let any one entity of the three branches (especially the executive branch) be above the law or be without the capacity to be removed or stopped if they go rogue. That path leads to unchecked single person rule. And that would be very, very bad. Trump must yield to the congressional subpoena's, and if he won't, we the people must reject that move and take the steps necessary to let the white house know this is not acceptable and force him to comply. This is not a dictatorship or monarchy and we do NOT want it to head in that direction.

Except there is no reason to think any crimes were committed at all. Remember, this is effectively the same case that was recently dismissed by federal prosecutors. New York is trying to take another bite at the apple, effectively saying, "First let us gather the evidence, and then we'll tell you if there was a crime." Except even the President of the United States is entitled to due process. Just remember, if the legal system can trample on even the president's basic rights, then what's to stop them from trampling on yours?

In just over 1 year, we will have elections that will determine Trump's fate as to his position as POTUS. Then, he'll be fair game for criminal prosecution.

I have a feeling that interest in his "illegal activities" will substantially decrease once he's out of office. That's what this whole thing is -- HATE TRUMP - KICK HIM OUT!
