It looks like the whistleblower complaint may have something to do with President Trump asking the Ukrainian government to look into Joe Biden's sketchy relationship with that country...

The mysterious “whistleblower” case now looks like a coordinated Democrat effort to block any investigation of presidential candidate Joe Biden for corrupt pressure on Ukraine to drop the investigation of Burisma, an energy company operating in the country, on which his son Hunter Biden was a board member.

In March 2016, then Vice-President Joe Biden warned Ukraine that $1 billion in loan guarantees would be withheld by the U.S. unless they replaced Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor general who was investigating Hunter Biden. Ukraine did remove Shokin, and the prosecution was dropped. It looks like a clear case of a quid-pro-quo.

However, as things are starting to shake out, the current obfuscation to protect Joe Biden is President Trump asking Ukraine’s new president Volodymyr Zelensky to take another look at the issues surrounding the former government’s decision to fire the Ukrainian prosecutor. This is presumably the call concerning to the whistleblower. To wit, democrats see this as Trump asking Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.

If there were something to be investigated then it should be investigated by the U.S. government, not by bribing a foriegn government to find dirt on the son of a political opponent. The monies he witheld from Ukraine were targeted to defend them against the Russian aggression on their eastern border. Trump has also cancelled aid targeted to other eastern european countries threatened by Russian aggression. Odd how Trumps actions seem to be in the best interests of Putin and Russia.

But Russia hates the President of the Ukraine, he is anti Putin - yet Trump is making deals with him to help Russia? The fact is it looks like Biden did shut down an investigation into a company his son was involved with by threatening to withhold monies.

Two years after leaving office, Joe Biden couldn’t resist the temptation last year to brag to an audience of foreign policy specialists about the time as vice president that he strong-armed Ukraine into firing its top prosecutor.

In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

Yeah - I knew one of you would be stupid enough to think I didn't understand the historical reference Mike was making.

But rather it is you that doesn't understand that dismissal of Mike's is just the sort of excuse making I'd expect from a person that would turn the other way even if Trump shot someone in broad daylight.

The reason for that was because the Prosecutor was corrupt and there were widespread protest throughout Ukraine demanding his firing. That's why Biden was openly boasting about getting him fired. Not giving a corrupt government 1 billion is not the same thing as withholding bi-partison aid in order that the government dig up dirt on a political opponent.

If it was all above board, then they should welcome an open inquiry into their affairs. If it wasn't above board, then it ought to be investigated, and the guilty parties held accountable.

(At least that's what you would be saying if the last name of the perpetrators was Trump.)

Hey dunderhead, I have no problem with it being investigated, I have a problem with the president of the U.S. using taxpayor money, a bi-partison appropriation, targeted to help defend Ukraine against Russian aggression in order to bribe a foriegn country to dig up dirt on a political opponent.

I see, so you finally disapprove of Hillary colluding with the Ukrainian government in an attempt to hurt Trump's presidential campaign.

And just so happened that the company that Prosecutor was investigating was the one where Hunter Biden was on the board of directors. Please...

But Ukrainian officials tell me there was one crucial piece of information that Biden must have known but didn’t mention to his audience: The prosecutor he got fired was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden’s younger son, Hunter, as a board member.

U.S. banking records show Hunter Biden’s American-based firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, received regular transfers into one of its accounts — usually more than $166,000 a month — from Burisma from spring 2014 through fall 2015, during a period when Vice President Biden was the main U.S. official dealing with Ukraine and its tense relations with Russia.

As of right now, the Ukraine thing is still just guessing.

                                sigh.
