    It is a book, written by a popular author, written for a target audience that includes adolescents that addresses contemporary issues, many faced by adolescents.

      It could be argued that reading a scene in a book is not as bad as seeing it on a screen.
      If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

        Ugh .. I need brain bleach just from reading those quotes.

        If it's true that the administration folks are proposing FORCING the parents to let their children read that sort of stuff, there might be legal repercussions.

                That's a point, but not really a good one. There's a lot of contemporary stuff aimed at the target audience that aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

                              I'm surprised that 80% of parents were fine with it.
