While I think its one of the single most dumb decisions Great Britain has ever done, and it'll cost them a lot, I think most britains simply don't want to be part of the EU. So for that reason its the right decision. Not because its smart, but because at the end of the day the people want it.

A slap on the wrist for continuing to be BFFs with a known pedophile, only after that TV interview. Don't delude yourself, it's just PR, hardly true justice.

While Trump gets away with blatant criminality:

A week after the duke’s disastrous interview with BBC Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis, more than 20 charities have already severed ties with him. He is expected to resign from up to 160 more within days.

Penny Junor, the royal author, said: “He’s absolutely finished. If Andrew is no longer representing or supporting the monarch in any capacity, or doing good charitably, what’s the point of him?”

Buckingham Palace said he would maintain his military affiliations for now, but would not take part in any events.
There are already signs of concern in military ranks about the duke, whose retreat from public life has been rapid. “Some of the regiments will find it a bit awkward having Andrew on their Christmas card,” said a palace source.

Oh, and in other news, Hoyle elected as new Speaker.

Has the House of Commons finally admitted it is a house of cards?

The US can feed itself. The UK hasn't been able to do that since the First World War. Idiotic food standards just make that problem worse.

Electioneering is now in progress. US threats to NHS by higher drug prices are under discussion, along with worries about crap US food standards.

Mr Corbyn claimed Boris Johnson's EU exit deal will "unleash Thatcherism on steroids".
"Given the chance, they'll slash food standards to match those of the US where 'acceptable levels' of rat hairs in paprika and maggots in orange juice are allowed," he will claim.
"And they will put chlorinated chicken on the supermarket shelves."

Date seems set for December 12. Beat, the motion to move it to 9 December by 20 votes.

There is a Fixed Term Parliament Act but this bill is a dodge around it. Where there is a will ....
Boris could not have done this by himself because of the Act.

Heaven only knows how all this pans out.
