  • Michael Cohen gets 3 years in prison!

President Trumps fixer, despite his cooperation with the Mueller probe gets 3 years plus 3 years of supervised release as well as nearly 2 million in fines from the 6th district of N.Y. for choosing not to fully cooperate with state prosecutors.

One has to wonder what he is hiding in order that he serve such a sentence instead of cooperating fully.

These were mostly tax evasion charges, and the Muller team did not want the cases conflated. He pled guilty to several counts of tax evasion (6 specifically), and Count 7 and 8 (involving the payouts to the 2 women) will be overturned on appeal. The single Mueller charge was for Cohen lying to Congress.

      "Trump's". It's a possessive, not a plural.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

        Maybe Trump can pardon him!

Let us rejoice! We have a bureaucracy which will do anything to dissuade candidates from running (and from people working on their campaigns) with the taxpaying public's money. What other ways should we use government money to keep alternative candidates from being elected the people?

No need for a crystal ball when count 7 and 8 are such an egregious misreading of campaign finance laws. A liberal Clinton judicial nominee - Judge William H. Pauley III - once again overstepped legal precedent and interpreted the campaign contribution laws in such an unprecedented manner that it stands no chance on appeal to a non-liberal biased judiciary. But that's to be expected from New York where things like this crap are occurring.

No, what we have is law, and we expect our elected officials including those working for them to abide by those laws. Trump campaigned on being the law and order candidate, or did you forget that? If their campaign is going to be crooked, and their presidency is going to be crooked, then their past may be connected and is then fair game as well with respect to any investigation that may be initiated.

Am I the only one wondering that if it is such a violation of campaign laws then why did Congress establish a slush fund using our tax money for them to dip into to pay off women complaining of sexual harassment and discrimination? This has been used hundreds of times often near the time of an election.

Because the one has to do with work place violations such as discrimination sexual harassment or whatever, and the payout has to be signed off on by both Republican and Democrat leadership. It has nothing to do with campaign finance law.

So the RNC's deputy-finance chair is going to jail for campaign finance violations, that were committed by him at the instruction of the then-Republican Presidential nominee, now President.

This is big. And the Republican criminal party is at it again.

                      Relevant chart...

Why are Republican administrations consistently full of criminals?

Wrong. What Cohen is going to jail for has nothing at all to do with Trump.

Get out of the bubble MM. Cohen is going to prison for causing an unlawful contribution, and excessive campaign contribution, both of which have to do with Trump. Trump directed him, and that is not only on tape, but the national enquirer head also admitted to having colluded with Trump and Cohen on that deal. But Mueller isn't letting on yet what else Cohen has revealed about Trump. You'll just have to wait until the probe concludes before he makes all that public. You're going to be so depressed. Sad!

What are the odds on whether MM has a mental breakdown when it happens, versus on him coming up with a conspiracy to explain another conspiracy to explain his own creative version of the facts?

Wrong again. A number of legal experts, including former members of the Federal Election Commission, have said that what Cohen did with respect to the payments was not a crime.
