Obviously I would not joke like that with everybody, but the woman you describe would recognize good-natured sarcasm when she hears it.

Yeah... that fits more with your style. It couples the self-pretension of thinking you are wiser than the other person, with the arrogant assumption that anyone who doesn't agree with you or points out a way in which you are being inconsistent is a "fool." You should ditch the other one completely.

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. I could not have described you any better. It's funny how our insecurities sometimes come out in the way we see other people, but a little honest introspection will do you a world of good.

Really, MM? The "I'm rubber and you're glue" response? Surely you can manage a tad better than that?

As long as that introspection aligns with your opinion, right?

Considering the description fits you far better than it fits me, yes, really.

                • There's another Proverb of Solomon that says, "Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you risk making yourself lke him."

You may continue with your childishly hypocritical tit-for-tat if you wish, but I'm done.

Nah...I think the point has been made, MM. But I do wonder at the label "childish." After all, I'm not the one resorting to "I'm rubber and you're glue" responses or calling other people names. And I have to admit to some disappointment. I was expecting a "pearls before swine" response. It seems to be a favorite exit line for so many...

I realize that this may be difficult to fathom, but perhaps MM is responding the way he is because he actually believes it's true, not because he's stooping to childish insults. Maybe you shouldn't be doing the mindreading you decry.

Oh I have no doubt that MM believes he's justified in all of his posting styles. He's made that abundantly clear. I don't need to read his mind - since he has repeatedly said as much.
