The potential seven-figure windfall, which she says she intends to cash in on – while still asking donors for more money – has some questioning her motivation for accusing the conservative judge after 35 years of silence, and whether it goes beyond personal or even political justice. Others worry the largesse sets a dangerous precedent: Crowdfunding, which unlike political donations is unregulated, could be routinely used in the future as a bounty for providing political dirt on opponents.

Two GoFundMe accounts have raised more than $842,000 for Ford, and the money is still coming in weeks after she testified and left the spotlight. The total does not include a third account collecting $120,000 for an academic endowment in her name.

"The costs for security, housing, transportation and other related expenses are much higher than we anticipated and they do not show signs of letting up,” Ford said in a recent statement posted on the GoFundMe page of the “Help Christine Blasey Ford” campaign, which is still bringing in donations. "Funds received via this account will be used to help us pay for these mounting expenses.”

GoFundMe spokeswoman Katherine Cichy told RealClearInvestigations that Ford and her husband can withdraw as much as they want whenever they want for any purpose. Payments would be electronically deposited into the Fords' bank account within two to five business days...

For one thing it is known that Kavanaugh lied to congress in his 2006 confirmation hearing, in the latest hearing it is obvious to all with half a brain, apparently that doesn't include yourself, that he lied as to the meaning of Dolphin alumnius, devils triangle, and boofing. For another thing, the congressional hearing is not a criminal trial, absolute proof isn't even necessitated, only that it is more likely than not, and as I said, to anyone with half a brain, that Kavanaugh lied, and that he acted in a way as to show himself to be unfit to serve on the SC, it should be obvious that it is more likely than not, he is unfit.

That answer doesn't even make sense. If they don't remember the event concerning Dr Fords accusation, how could they, then how can they say they don't remember the party in question. They wouldn't know what party is being talked about. Try using your own head once in a while.

and they certainly didn't recall ever attending a party where Ford ran past them in a panic and disappeared into the night (and if Ford's claims are true then it would have been impossible for her to have left the house without everybody seeing her). I guess they were all blackout drunk, huh? That's the only explanation.
Again, another nonsensical answer. It'd be quite easy to slip out of a house where everyone is occupied drinking and partying. You speak as if you were there and knew exactly where everyone was and exactly what they were doing. You have no clue!

Do you really suppose that this was 'part of the plan' The accounts were setup long after the ball was rolling and she'd had to hire security and move out of her home. The were apparently set up for her by people that believed her and where sympathetic to difficulty of the situation.

It also appears similar accounts were set up for Brett Kavanaugh.

To make it appear she did this for profit based on the existence of these accounts is slander/libel depending on the form the claim is made. She may in the end come out ok. But this sort of attack is just mean.

Honestly, I can't imagine what she or Kavanaugh has been through with all of this. Since I have no way of know for sure which is innocent, or if both of them are, or at least believe they are. So I'm glad they and their families also don't have to declare bankruptcy or suffer financial ruin over it.

Dr Ford's "named witness" did NOT reject the accusation, she did not recall the incident. There's a big difference.

“Leland Ingham Keyser said through her lawyer, Howard Walsh that she believes Ford's account, but she does not remember the alleged incident between Ford and Kavanaugh”. “It is unremarkable that Ms. Keyser does not remember attending a specific gathering 30 years ago at which nothing of consequence happened to her,"

This is just one episode, albeit a serious one, in the much documented Kavanaugh story by his contemporaries of his aggressive, belligerent alcoholic years and his possibly lying attempts to disown them. It warranted investigation in full, but this was prevented by a WH totally determined, come what may, to get Kavanaugh confirmed. But, perhaps this unfinished business is something Congress can rectify after the mid-terms.

What's your proof that the WH prevented "investigation in full"?

It was evident that the Democrats in the Senate would not have been satisfied that the investigation was 'complete' until they found something which could be used to torpedo Kavanaugh's nomination.

Strangely, when the Democrats are in this position, they never seem to be referred to as "the party of 'NO'" - only the Republicans get that label when they're thwarting something the Democrats want done.

You gotta do a better job vetting your sources, kiddo. Here is a direct quote from Keyser's lawyer: "Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh, and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford."

It was the Washington Compost, not her lawyer, who said she believed Ford. She can say whatever she wants to the media, but her sworn statement is that the party never took place.

Of course Ford's lawyers tried to spin this by saying "Of course she doesn't remember, because the party would have been unremarkable," never mind that according to Ford's various statements, it's almost impossible that her best friend would not have remembered the very remarkable occurrence of a panicked Ford rushing past her and out the front door, never to return.

From Ford's letter: "Both loudly stumbled down the stair well at which point other persons at the house were talking with them. I exited the bathroom, ran outside of the house and went home."

From her testimony: "When I got to the small gathering, people were drinking beer in a small living room on the first floor of the house. [...] [W]hen I did not hear them come back up the stairs, I left the bathroom, went down the same stairwell through the living room, and left the house."

In short, there's no way she could have run out of the house without being seen.

Furthermore, the third witness, PJ Smyth, also says he has no memory of the party in question, even though according to Ford's testimony, he, too, would have been well-placed to see Ford run out the door in a panic.

Look, man, no matter how you want to spin it, there is zero corroboration for Ford's sketchy accusations. That's the evidence. Trying to hand wave away the lack of corroboration by saying, "Of course they don't remember because X, Y, and Z," is not evidence, it is idle speculation at best.

But we've over all this before.

Exactly - and they still seem incapable of understanding that all the FBI was doing was "gathering information" in the form of statements. There was no crime scene to investigate and no forensic material to examine. When they obtain the statements, they don't investigate them, they simply report what "he said" or "she said". We already had tons of that, along with the porn star lawyer who flat out LIED about what his client said, and a major news organization that withheld crucial exculpatory information.

                              • Excellent questions here.

Why Did Media And Democrats Abandon Their Investigation Into Brett Kavanaugh?

If Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is really a rapist and sexual assailant, as Democrats and media claimed, shouldn't the story continue to be covered?

                                ...

If the Kavanaugh confirmation circus were about justice for his alleged victims, instead of about killing his nomination by any means, we’d still be getting updates on this story, wouldn’t we?

So what does it mean that we’re not getting updates? What does it mean that Democrats are not being asked by mainstream journalists about whether they support Kavanaugh’s impeachment? Why have the media given up on investigating this story that they obsessed over for a few weeks in September and October?

Any reporter who was able to verify the claims against Kavanaugh would be an instant hero and awarded all the journalism prizes. Is anyone even attempting to do so? Democrats took the claims so seriously that they charged Kavanaugh with the crimes in Senate hearings. Did they mean what they said? If they’re telling the truth, he should be impeached and imprisoned.

Conversely, if Kavanaugh was falsely accused, had his reputation obliterated, and nearly had his life destroyed in the process, his accusers should be held accountable. If the Justice Department responds to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s criminal referral of Avenatti and Swetnick, some will be. But what about the rest? What’s going on with this story?

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.
