Hey! I might not always like it, but ... but I live in the USA! So, of course I'd want it to exist.
If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

My real answer would be a world where Europe gets its act together and starts spending 3% of their BNP on their military.

Beyond that I'd of course prefer the US, whom I consider an ally of Denmark. At least we've participated in every single war the US has fought for the past couple of decades.

The Trump admin is being very disruptive and the opposition abroad is taking advantage while they can. We hope this will end soon and we will sing “it’s over and done with”.

I would prefer the EU was the world's main power, is that an option? Also a stronger UN would be nice.

This is your repeated general reminder that Russia is only the 12th largest economy in the world, and dropping. The cold war is over and they are not a superpower.

The recent US increase in military spending this year that sailed through congress somehow without the media and the people screaming "how are you going to pay for it?!" from the rafters, was itself larger than the entire Russian military budget.

Hmm, possible. Though I think the European Union could get its act together, and started upping its military, its possible the US might feel spurred to up its own. Just to maintain the edge. A common European army is something I've come around on. We need it, no way about it. And that means we need to put in the money for it. Which in most cases involves nearly a doubling of military budgets.

I have a strong feeling its going to happen at some point. One of the good things Trump did is accelerate the project. Just as Bush and Obama triggered Europe into builing its own GPS system, when they told the EU they reserved the right to turn off GPS in certain circumstances.

Why do you think Europe needs to spend more? It's spending seems sufficient to me. Who do you perceive to be Europe's primary military enemies?

(Yes OBP I know you hate this graph because it's 2008, but none of the more recent graphs group Europe together so this one's more visually useful to show, and there's no particular reason to think the 2018 numbers are hugely different from 2008 numbers)

”No thanks”, to either. I would prefer a revived British Empire, but without today’s social attitudes. The religion of 1200, the social attitudes of 1950, the Empire of 1900, and the technology of 2000, would be about right.

If we're going to go into the world of fantasy, I'd prefer the US to become a colony of the British Empire again.
