I mean I don't go around debating about New Zealand politics, Australian or Norwegian politics. Are we really that important or fascinating?

The US has a much greater influence on world politics and society than other Anglophone or English-using states, so in that respect its behaviour is more influential than theirs. Idea from the US are more influential, because it can be understood by other, less influential, English-using cultures. This is not true of Muslim states, China, Russia, or the EU, important as they are.
