A high school student's prom pictures have generated a furious debate online after some social media users accused the 18-year-old of "cultural appropriation".

If this doesn't show you that progressives have a mental disorder then nothing will. This is absolutely nuts. These freaks talk about globalization and yet they don't even understand that can't even happen without a sharing of cultures to begin with. Not to mention you don't even need to be a globalist to look at something from another culture in a good light. However this is a dress and I find it very hard to understand why a DRESS is being brought into a discussion about "other people's cultures". I guess I'm supposed to get all angry at you American's when you put on a kilt when in reality I just don't care and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. You must have some massive chip on your shoulder to find something like this upsetting.

Do you associate concern about cultural appropriation with progressivism?

I'm a progressive and I've never seen other progressives use the phrase "cultural appropriation" in any way other than to mock those who are concerned / pretend concern about it.

I think concern about this issue, insofar as it exists at all, is limited to pseudo-woke neo-liberal anti-intellectual McFeminists. Probably most of the online 'concern' is coming from right-wing trolls who are pretending to be outraged leftists.

Do you realize that in the US the are types of illegality, and felony is only one type. California isn't making deliberately passing on HIV legal, it's still illegal, they're just tweaking the punishment for it. If you think there's a connection between the two articles in your picture (the second of which is about the rise of syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea) you're just stupid. But no surprises there.
