And here's some MORE! There's LOTS of examples if you'd only PRETEND to be open minded:

According to a new report produced by Coburn’s office, promotional activities that MAP has subsidized include advertising for pet food and animal spa products, wine tastings, and reality television shows. To make a point, Coburn’s amendment would have also prohibited MAP from funding those four items in particular.

Coburn’s amendment, of course, failed, just as almost all efforts to kill pork and corporate welfare fail. But look at the vote breakdown: Republicans voted 28 to 18 to cut the program. Democrats voted 51-to-2 against the cuts, thus siding with the agribusiness lobby.

Recent votes on corporate welfare have broken down similarly.

Of the 20 Senators who voted against reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank, 19 were Republicans.

On the sugar subsidy program, Dems voted 36-17 in favor of Big Sugar, while Republicans voted 29-17 to kill the subsidy.

I know, I know, PICK ME!!!!

Because Dirty Rotten Harry always manages to allow enough democrats to vote WITH republicans in the Senate against ending subsidies to guaranty their failure, so they can blame the republicans!

Well, lookie here! From that BASTION of Conservative Activism, the Huffington Post. (that's a joke, Jimmy - Huffington Post is NOWHERE NEAR conservative)

Source: HuffingtonPost.com - Barack Obama: King Of Corporate Welfare

No matter what else he achieves or where he falls short, Barack Obama can lay claim to the title of King of Corporate Subsidies.

Using any of a variety of measures, the Obama administration has broken all records in the distribution of taxpayer dollars to American businesses, primarily banks, automobile manufacturers and insurance companies.

The tidal wave of dollar bills has stunned folks on all sides of the political spectrum.

David Arkush, director of Ralph Nader's Public Citizen's Congress Watch, told the Huffington Post, "In the form they have taken to date, the bailouts appear to be classic corporate welfare: As best we can tell, the government is giving astonishing amounts of money to private corporations and demanding far too little in return."

"Forget corporate welfare," said Leslie Paige, media director of Citizens Against Government Waste, in an email to the Huffington Post: "We are now seeing full-scale corporate adoption."

        • And, from GLOBALWARMING.org.... (apparently a conservative source)

          Source: globalwarming.org

Last week, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) introduced an amendment to the highway bill that would have banned all energy subsidies—not just for some companies, but for all of them; not just for solar, wind, and other renewables, but for coal, oil, and natural gas. The amendment was defeated 72 to 26—all of those 26 who voted to stop “tilting the playing field to favor corporations” were conservatives, not liberals. Every single liberal who voted, including Bernie Sanders and Schumer, voted to continue subsidizing energy companies at the average American’s expense.

Not only did liberals not support “leveling the playing field,” they voted to tilt the playing field even further in favor of special interests the same day. 45 Democrats voted for T. Boone Pickens’ payoff plan—otherwise known as the NATGAS Act, which would provide tax subsidies to corporations who produce natural gas powered vehicles and fueling stations. Also on the same day, only four Democrats voted to end tax subsidies for wind energy corporations. In other words, liberals hate corporations—as long as they’re not corporations that they want to fund with taxpayer dollars.

Democrats love "corporate welfare", TOO, Jimmy --- they just want to choose the recipients, reward their friends and punish their enemies. JUST LIKE the Republicans!

I wish. If the Rethuglicans wanted to do something underhanded that would actually help they'd gut anti-piracy laws and destroy the corporate entertainment industry. But they don't because Republicans are just libruls.

You work to hard CP. This was 20 billion in Corporate welfare going to the wealthiest Business in the history of the world. The subsidies had nothing to do with protecting the industry from foriegn competitors, profit loss from price changes, with saving jobs etc etc. It was a straight up and down vote, no amendments, and Republicans voted against it while at the same time putting out a budget that would cut the safety net to those who actually need it. Everybody knows that all politicians on both sides take money from Corporations and in some instances support subsidies for those industries whether for legitimate or illigitimate reasons. Its an inherent problem with the system, but Democrats are not trying to balance the budget on the backs of the poor while just giving billions of tax dollars away for no other reason than the Corporations would like it. The fact remains, The corporations in question don't need it, it was a straight up or down vote, democrats voted to cut it, and Republicans voted to continue it.

Huh, thats a good one CP. Yeah, Obama bailed out the auto industry, and saved thousands of jobs in the process. Most of that money being repayed mind you. Banks and Insurance companies going under may have pushed the economy right over the cliff, no one really knew. But thats what he faced coming into office thanks to Bush's trillion dollar wars, trillion dollar tax cuts, and the no regulation Republican agenda that allowed the Banks to destroy the world economy. Way to cherry pick.

It's "too", and, no -- it was a piece of cake. It's no surprise that you can define "corporate welfare" in a GOOD way if it's your buddies, but in a BAD way if it's Republicans.

Depends whether it's a Democrat or Republican. It will always be the OTHER party's mess.

Nah, it'll always be the mess of the party who has the closest chance of taking responsibility. So Republicans, always.

Well of course and people like Jimmy eat that stuff up because he doesn't bother to go and check the voting records to see what really is going on. He lets the talking heads on MSNBC do all his thinking for him.

It isn't that hard to find this stuff Jimmy if you were to bother to search the web instead of just accepting whatever the MSNBC talking heads tell you.

And CP already showed that a number of democrats voted against it too, but you ignored that because that told you things you didn't want to hear. Face it Jimmy, your democrat hero's are not hero's at all. They are the same as the republicans you blame for everything. They are just playing to their base and hoping that you'll believe whatever you are told. Without bothering to go and check the facts for yourself.

That's right because when democrats do it, it's ok and Jimmy will make excuses for them. When republicans do the same thing though, Jimmy will throw a hissy fit and claim republicans don't care about the poor. It's always wonderful to see people making excuses for their hero's and try to call black, white.
