the various issues surrounding consent are powerful enough, I think, to mean that the next snag on the slippery slope will be number of partners rather than the age of the partners, especially given the general scorn for those who marry too early.

The worship of the orgasm, if taken to its ultimate conclusion, would end in the endorsement of pedophilia or child pornography, etc, but I don't think the gravitational pull of the orgasm is as strong as other forces in our society and legal system.

Given their general suicide rate, immaturity, propensity to bully other citizens, willingness to spread deadly diseases among themselves and others, ingratitude, and all-around insufferability, treating them as merely 'second class citizens' seems a bit too lenient.

Progressivism is fueled by rabid, insane egalitarianism. There's nothing stopping them from declaring that young teens and children are equal to adults and should have the same rights. Including the right to consent to sex. That it "seems" unlikely is a worthless argument no sane Christian should take for granted considering gay marriage also seemed unlikely 10-20 years ago.
