Since the George Floyd topic keeps coming up, I thought it might deserve a new look....

New film gives reel truth in the face of George Floyd lies

A brilliant new crowdfunded documentary, “The Fall of Minneapolis,” aims to remedy our collective amnesia about the events of May 25, 2020 — a time when the country was already half-mad from the ravages of COVID-19 and forced lockdowns, and when Democratic Party operatives, including candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, seized on the “Defund the police” movement, in order to bring down President Donald Trump.

So many lies have been told since, and so much truth buried by the Big Tech censors that control reality, that the documentary arrives like a slap in the face.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Your leftist detractors are going to argue that Joe was against the defund police movement. Kam I'm not so sure. IMO, Kam openly sponsoring a funding program to bail out the rioters is probably one of most scandalous activities they were engaged in and dovetails the overall leftist movement pushing leniency for criminals.

The Biden administration rather famously refused to endorse or support the Defund The Police movement.

      EVIDENCE

Biden's published criminal justice plan called for a $300 million investment in community policing efforts -- including the hiring of more officers. On June 8, Biden told CBS, "No, I don't support defunding the police." Rather, he said, "I support conditioning federal aid to police based on whether or not they meet certain basic standards of decency and honorableness. And, in fact, are able to demonstrate they can protect the community and everybody in the community."

It's worth noting that the slogan "defund the police" means different things to different activists -- from the dissolution of police forces to partial reductions in funding.

Trump's campaign has seized on a single comment Biden made to a progressive activist in a July video chat. In that conversation, Biden repeated his opposition to defunding police. When pressed, he did say he "absolutely" agrees that some funding can be redirected to social services, mental health counseling and affordable housing, but he immediately transitioned to his previous proposal to deny federal funding to specific police departments that do not meet certain standards. Biden said in early June that decisions about funding levels should be made by local communities, since some have too many officers, but some don't have enough.

"Seized on" doesn't necessarily make the claim they supported it.

"Vociferously distanced itself from the movement" would be an accurate summary of the Biden campaign's response to the Defund movement and does not allow for anything resembling "seized on". The Defund movement was understood even at the time to be a significant millstone for Biden, despite and because of the distance he put between himself and Defund activists/supporters.

It depends on what they meant by it. They could have meant they were part of the general leftist propaganda movement (of which defund police was part of) about white supremacy and police violence against colored people that fueled the nationwide animosity and violence. We definitely have 2020 messages from both in that regard.

Joe was decidedly neutral on the topic.

Harris not only headed requests to bail out those arrested for rioting in Minneapolis she strongly supported the rioting, telling Americans long after the protests had devolved into rioting, that they won't stop and shouldn't stop

"But they’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop. They’re not. This is a movement. I’m telling you. They’re not going to stop, and everyone, beware. Because they’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop before election day in November, and they are not going to stop after election day. And everyone should take note of that on both levels. That they’re not going to let up. And they should not, and we should not."

Telling us to "beware" and that they shouldn't stop. This was well after they started burning police precincts down with police inside sending texts to family and friends saying they loved them because they figured they were going to die.

She wouldn't even say anything to denounce the violence until THREE MONTHS LATER -- on August 27th. Politifact, right after providing the quote, actually had the temerity to claim that her eventual denunciation was "proof" that she only supported peaceful demonstrations:

In a speech on Aug. 27, Harris said she supported peaceful protesters.

"We should not confuse them with those looting and committing acts of violence," she said.

That wasn't even a tepid rejection. It was darn near ice cold and most likely only the result of Biden's keepers twisting her arm to even get that much from her.

The conversation from the first quote you boxed without attribution does not refer to rioting and it's false to suggest that 2020 protests "had devolved into rioting", as riots were infrequently interspersed among a much wider spectrum of peaceful protests. Nor does anything you've referenced show Harris supporting the Defund movement specifically, which is relevant as the Defund movement was among many — but not synonymous with — protests and demonstrations.

You also cut Harris' August 27th comments:

Source: Fact check: Kamala Harris said she supports protests, not ‘riots’, in Late Show clip. Reuters. 2020.10.29

“It’s no wonder people are taking to the streets and I support them. We must always defend peaceful protest and peaceful protestors. We should not confuse them with those looting and committing acts of violence, including the shooter who was arrested for murder. And make no mistake, we will not let these vigilantes and extremists derail the path to justice.”

The effort to gaslight the outrage against what happened to Floyd is itself primarily sourced from racist or racist leaning sources. The 'outrage' over certain technical details lives in the desire to pretend racism doesn't exist anymore- an awkwardly racist sidebar adopted be those averse to overt racism.

When the go to topics on something like Floyd's killing, or any black man's killing drawing national attention, over and over and over again are anything and everything that tries to minimize what happened, or to exonerate the killer(s), or that tries to cast shade or blame on the victim(s), it is a sure sign you are dealing with people who are strongly racist themselves in one way or another.

Its not that these thing are discussed in an effort to get the whole story. It is that they are the primary theme over and ever again. The fact that a police officer brutally killed a man using prohibited techniques abd excessive force - not so much. The fact black people are far more likely to end up like Floyd than white people in this country, again, not so much.

Why should there be more outrage over a drug addled black man dying after resisting arrest than a white man dying under the same circumstance?

After the first few days of protest the rioters had pretty much taken over. And it was after that Harris warned Americans that they won't stop and more importantly, shouldn't stop.

As for your insinuation regarding the quote, I thought it was well known enough not to need one. She said it while on Colbert's show and even Snopes had to admit it was an accurate attribution (although desperate to find some sort of excuse for her they point out she never used the word riot -- even though absolutely nobody on the left would call them riots no matter how violent they got). This was the era of "mostly peaceful protests" and "fiery but peaceful." A time when social justice trumped social distancing.

And again, it took her three months before she was apparently strong-armed into finally condemning the violence that was rampant. Three months.

So your insipid attempt to provide cover is nothing but an insipid attempt to provide cover.

ETA: Just noticed her remark about "a shooter who was arrested for murder." A shooter? Which one? The ones who killed two people in two separate instances for approaching the autonomous zone in Seattle? The one who killed the little girl for approaching the autonomous zone in Atlanta? The retired police captain gunned down in his pawn shop in St. Louis? The man wearing the MAGA hat who was shot from behind by someone who ambushed him in Portland? Or someone else.

Thanks for making my point. We watched him die at the hands of Chauvin on the video. For you to make a comment like this both angers and saddens me at the coldness and callousness it represents. It is not true, and it distorts reality in a way that both dismisses Chauvin's responsibility, and spits on Floyd's dignity.

I remember a time when you used to care about facts, and the notion that facts form the basis for conclusions.
That has drastically changed, and conclusions - especially those dealing with race or gender - can not, under any circumstances, be challenged by actual facts.
Any facts that oppose your narrative are "racist" or "gaslighting".

Jim, you seem to imply that it was somehow worse because of the races of those involved so it is a fair question to ask how it was worse than if Floyd had been white.
