    You have to wonder how many other undercover cops instigated, and what was their goal...

    An easy explanation would be that he's a Trump supporter and was there on his own volition, unless they can perhaps prove he was in communication with others.

            Because generally in the US, police get away with crimes?

            He can go there to protest as an individual Trump supporter, knowing that if he gets into trouble for that, his identity as a police officer will shield him.

                Usually this stuff is just conspiracy theory nutters making false or inaccurate claims about a video. So, pardon me if I wait it out till we see if this has any legs or begins showing up as being sonething other that much ado about nothing after investigations by responsible fact checking organizations.

                The likelihood he's there to start the violence in some covert move to create the jan 6 event is basically zero, which unfortunately is the spin the golden idol worshippers here are hoping for.

                  Provocateurs can explicitly call for entering the Capitol without getting arrested because that's their job as provocateurs.

                    Considering that Loudermilk said he verified he was an undercover police officer, and he was wearing a bodycam, it would appear this guy was on duty and placed there by his police department.

                        Given he was apparently wearing a body cam I'd say he was on-duty. Motive though is still undetermined.

                            That one is compounded by the narrative. I even wonder about the argument "had it been a white cop and a black woman"..... I think, in this case, the narrative (the "insurrection") would have overridden any racial component.
