    Got to love Nikki Haley.

She's wants everyone to be verified to go online. It doesn't at surprise me she'd endorse something like this. What surprises me is how dumb she is (or just that out of touch with today's conservative movement) to openly endorse something like this before she's elected...

The bolded is incorrect and shows you don’t understand what she said.

First, she proposed something sensible—that all social media companies reveal their algorithms and data-harvesting processes. A simple call for full transparency.

Second—and the part you got wrong—she’s proposing that everyone with a social media account verify their identity to eliminate foreign bot accounts that create fake news. Whether you agree or disagree, it certainly has nothing to do with Haley being a war hawk.

No, you clearly don't understand what she said. She didn't say "everyone with a social media account." She said everyone on social media. It was a general allusion to other proposals that have been made that everyone verify who they are to go online.

And I do I agree with the first part, but that isn't what I was talking about. And I didn't say her being a warmonger had anything to do with it

It's because she comes from the right wing of the Republican Party, and not the libertarian wing. She's scary, and I'm happy she doesn't have a chance.

You don't need foreign bots when legacy media is willing to spread fake news.

I saw that. Interesting from someone that doesn't even use her full real name online, Nimarata Nikki Randhawa.....

Basically every time in the last two weeks I've seen one of her tweets, it sound more like she's running to be president of Israel than President of the US.

Whag doesn't get it. You're correct. Haley is proposing is to completely erase online anonymity, which would include Whag (unless his actual name is John Q. Whag). It doesn't matter if a person does not have a Facebook or Instagram account. She doesn't want anyone using a pseudonym to post anywhere online because they might be a foreign bot. That would include comments posted on articles on news websites, where I do believe a lot of bots are lurking (where they call news stories fake or defend enemy dictators).

I don't know about that. The establishment seems to be propping her up of late.

No surprise, she's getting pushback from the conservative base...

What's ultimately being pushed is digital ID. They want everyone to be digitally verified to go online. The political left will endorse it and claim it stops "hate speech," and the political right will endorse it claiming it protects us from foreign trolls. It's inevitable that that's coming, but perhaps we can hold it off as long as possible.

Like so many other attempts to solve problems, I'd guess this one will punish the honest and the crooks will find ways around it.

                        100%.

I personally have no problem using my full name. Some social media companies have already made that a requirement. It's that they want the mechanism in place to deny you online access if they so choose and that's the mechanism Haley was alluding to.

Everyone on social media would have an account. Social media use requires one have an account before they can post and browse, therefore she’s proposing that ONLY THOSE PEOPLE verify their identities. Why? To eliminate fakes.

                          This literally makes no sense:

She's wants everyone to be verified to go online.

That’s phrased backwards and even phrased in your intended order STILL isn’t what she’s saying. She’s not even saying everyone online should be verified, which is what you meant to say. See just wants everyone on social media—IOW, social media account holders—to verify their identity. Obviously, bots wouldn’t be able to do that, so their accounts would be closed.

You brought war into it, which makes no sense in the context of what she proposed.

Your blithering misapprehension of her proposal is obvious to everyone. She’s proposed nothing more than the identity verification of social media users. Those who don’t use social media wouldn’t need to verify themselves.

Identity thieves would have a field day if online anonymity were eliminated. I remember when game developer Blizzard proposed their controversial "Real ID" plan where users would have to prove their identity to register a forum account, and their full names would be visible in every post. One guy defending them put his full name in a post to prove that there was no harm in doing so. A few minutes with an internet search engine, and I was able to find out what college he had graduated from, and where he was currently working. I think someone might have sent him a private message because he deleted the post about ten minutes later. He thought better of it and deleted his post shortly after. Thankfully, Blizzard quietly abandoned the idea.
