    Yum, modest proposal...

That is called human speciesism; it is a type of prejudice against living creatures simply because they are not like you.

It is terrible that we have lost our sense of place in nature because of industrialized food production and many other things. Native Americans had much more respect for the animals they consumed for food and clothing than we do today.

So you have no problem grilling and eating dead human flesh then?

Yep! That's the modest proposal! Turn all dead bodies under a year down to the zygote stage into the "pork" in pork and beans.

Meaning he hasn't thought this through...
Does Speciesism only apply to mammals? vertabrates? Animalia? multicellular organisms? eukaryotes?

No, it only applies to what the animal rights activists want it to. Usually animals that are either cute, or are in a place that protecting them equals harming human beings in the process.

But what about all the other species!

Why would you think that? Cannibalism is not unknown but it is definitely not currently fashionable (not here at least). However, when pushed to the limits of survival, anyone might turn to cannibalism, maybe even you.
