But yes, very poor decision to fire her particularly after her boss had she had acted properly.
It was online but just like a regular class it is upon the students to pay attention. More so in that this was also explained in the in the syllabus for the course

I wonder if the school was trying to avoid a response from Muslims who have been known to violently retaliate for similar "offenses" against their religion.

I've never been sure what to make of that piece because that famous nun art critic actually defended it.

If it was done to the Virgin Mary, she very likely would have been offended.

              So, not too difficult.
Yep, for example, pastries that contain lard (pig fat) would not be halal. Pastry crusts using beef fat would need to be from cows that were slaughtered in a halal matter. A lot of white sugar (huge in baking) contains bone char (which sucks for vegans like me), usually from cow bones, which again have to be slaughtered in a halal matter to be considered halal. Any sort of flavoring using alcohol would not be halal.

Moyers presses on, asking whether she was offended by Andres Serrano's Piss Christ, a work which, he claims, "denigrates the central figure of your faith." Again, she begs to differ. While advancing her opinion that Serrano is "not a very gifted young man, but he's trying to do his best," Sister Wendy absolutely refuses to see Piss Christ as blasphemous. Instead she reads it as an admonitory work that attempts to say "this is what we are doing to Christ."

It seems to me as she's being overly generous here.
