The fact that top earners cheat the government out of more money is important because it is a reason for the IRS to work a lot harder to catch wealthy cheaters. There is a much higher potential payoff.

As I said you brought up that the largest monetary loss from tax cheats come from the rich, which would, as I pointed out, have an awful lot to do with the simple fact that they pay most of the taxes.
