  • Santos should RESIGN!!! Right after Biden

So, sounds like Santos fabricated a lot of his own life.

    So did Biden.

So, Santos should resign right after Biden, right?

Santos’ claim about his mother and 9/11 faces scrutiny amid his other lies

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

The guy is at best a clown and possibly a grifter, but yeah, if fabricating virtually your entire life history is reason for him to be required to resign, then how about our concocter-in-chief?

I'm always still in trouble again

He should respond, "Yeah, I made a lot of stuff up -- kinda like our President -- if you can convince him to resign, I'll be right behind - otherwise, I'll go ahead and be sworn in".

Trump lied about everything, yes, but not nearly so much about his own personal background as Santos.

p.s. For the Ronsons of the world, who don't understand the concept of ironically inverting a post, yes I know Rogue obviously meant Biden cos that was obvious, and yes I knowingly changed his ambiguous reference to refer to Trump since Trump was a bigger liar so your point works better for him than Biden. Ronson, when I have to explain the humor in my posts like this the joke's not nearly as funny.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

And because Trump is still in office in the minds of many liberals and needs to resign/be impeached/run out on a rail.

I've rarely seen anything like old Joe inside or outside of politics when it comes to just totally making up nearly every detail about his life -- until maybe this guy.

I can recall one major lie about his life by Biden - that he'd been arrested in SA protesting in support of Mandela. That strikes me as a pretty egregious lie, but it's not exactly a large number of lies.

IIRC, even when he was rambling on the campaign trail about anecdotes from his childhood in Scranton that sounded super-fishy, the fact checkers afterwards dug into them and found they were all actually true.

Looking at Politifact I see there are a small handful of others that I hadn't seen, about claims about the number of times he'd visited Iraq and Afghanistan and a different version of him being arrested protesting civil rights.

But a number of lies countable on the fingers of one hand doesn't seem to be 'nearly every detail about his life', and isn't comparable with Trump or Santos' prolific chronic lying.

I was having lunch today with a politically mixed group of my extended family. Trump came up in conversation, and they unanimously thought Trump was orders of magnitude worse than any other president in US history.

I tried to convince them Bush W was worse. Bush started two wars, lied about WMDs in Iraq, and ran a torture program. Trump for all his lies and selfishness was incompetent enough that he didn't do the international damage Bush did. You could argue he killed more Americans than Bush due to Trump's covid incompetence, but it's hard to apportion deaths for that to the different factors and different political actors in the US.

Not dealing with it as a derail, but kudos on defending Trump. But only one representative, Barbara Lee voted against the use of military force. Iraq and Afghanistan is on the hands of those who authorised it, including Biden.

Ronson's accidental misreading of Terfing for Twerking must be contagious. I misread this title as Santas should RESIGN!

Everything from his story about his face off against "Corn Pop" when he was young, his entire academic career (including claims about the Naval Academy), plagiarizing speeches from British politicians (which forced him to drop out of his presidential bid in the 80s), on up through now with claims of his house burning down with Jill in it, getting a medal for his uncle at his father's request, getting cancer, marching in Civil Rights protests, growing up in a Puerto Rican culture, driving a big rig, gas being $5 per gallon when he took office, going into a combat zone in Afghanistan to award a medal, how his first wife died and how Beau (his oldest son) died etc, etc, etc.

Some lies are big, many are small and inconsequential. But old Joe hasn't been just a self-described "human gaffe machine" all of his life. He has also been known for his Walter Mittyesque embellishments and fabrications for just as long so you can't even dismiss it as the result of old age. He's been doing this crap for at least as long as he's been in the public eye and will return to repeating many of them even after being forced to admit they weren't true (such as the stuff he lifted from the speech he plagiarized).

Like anyone is supposed to care what a group of Kiwis believe. And I suspect that with you "a politically mixed group" consists of a classical Socialist, a Maoist, a Trotskyist, two members of the Green Party and you.

I also can't imagine why "US politics" would be a topic of conversation for a bunch of New Zealanders. Don't they have anything better to talk about?
