Well that explains why Jim Baker was "helping" Musk he wanted to make sure that the FBI's involvement with the Twitter in suppressing the laptop story was scrubbed.

They don't seem to have presented any evidence that Jim Baker 'scrubbed' anything, nor stated that they have any actual evidence that he did so (other than their view that they don't like him and they can imagine a motive for him wanting to do so).

The entire story appears to be "we realized Jim Baker works for Twitter! We don't like Jim Baker for historical reasons! Therefore we fired him!" Which seems shrug-worthy.

But the conspiracy theorists seem to already have Jim Baker as a character in their conspiracy theories, so the fact that he was working at Twitter now becomes an additional thread they can start weaving into their conspiracy theories. The latest conspiracy theory seems to be that the reason that Musk and Taibbi found no evidence to support the previous conspiracy theory was because Jim Baker had hidden that evidence. It's a house of cards of conspiracy theories, each explaining why no evidence can be found to support the previous conspiracy theory.

I would be VEEERY careful here if I was Elon on what he says. Jim Baker is NOT a public person, and if he's not careful, he'll easily find himself in court for defamation.

Given how often he went on CNN to pontificate I would think that might be a bit of a gray area.

The Twitter files included revelations that "Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the [Hunter Biden laptop] story, removing links and posting warnings that it may be 'unsafe.' They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography.

"White House spokeswoman Kaleigh McEnany was locked out of her account for tweeting about the story, prompting a furious letter from Trump campaign staffer Mike Hahn, who seethed: 'At least pretend to care for the next 20 days.

"This led public policy executive Caroline Strom to send out a polite WTF query. Several employees noted that there was tension between the comms/policy teams, who had little/less control over moderation, and the safety/trust teams," journalist Matt Taibbi revealed in a lengthy thread released on Friday.
