The shooter, who identifies himself as non-binary and who's preferred personal pronouns are they/them and goes by "Mx. Aldrich," hardly followed in his father's foot steps.

Since they apparently can't find evidence that he is conservative the NYT is instead seeking to try guilt by association -- his father is conservative -- instead of looking at the evidence provided that the shooter is another violent leftist loon.
How does one pronounce "Mx."? Mixter? Mixes?

I'd go with "mix" as in mixed-up.

It was hilarious watching some of the news channels trying to handle the news. On CNN, Alisyn Camerota, after reporting that the shooter is nonbinary, who's preferred personal pronouns are they/them and goes by "Mx. Aldrich" was effectively speechless saying "I don't know what to say about that." It didn't match up to the narrative that the left had been pushing that opposing men twerking in front of small children in school and providing hard core gay porn to them prompted the attack.

And there always HAS to be a narrative for these guys. They just can't accept that a shooter is a murderer, and that's that. They always have to look for a cause - especially a political one - because it pads the story and shares the blame.

Yup. Just like how a crazed nudist, illegal immigrant who supports BLM and the Green Party is morphed into a conservative after attacking Paul Pelosi.

The radical left to radical right conspiracy pipeline is quite short (and the morphing occurred before the attack, per his internet postings, not after like you just falsely claimed)

The odd thing is that a number of leftists embrace conspiracies that the MSM call right wing. For instance, 5G conspiracies, which likely motivated the Nashville bomber, were typically associated with QAnon but have long spread out into different segments of society with the most vocal proponents of the idea now including rap stars and environmental activists.

Is there evidence the culprit actually identified as non-binary prior to the crime? As far as I can tell--and this may have changed since I checked--this claim comes entirely from them and their defense after their arrest, and could simply have been made up to try to get some kind of sympathy points. Is there evidence of this being the case prior to them going on the shooting spree?

                      • Since this is topical to the charges the shooter is facing, hate crime laws are a "savage hypocrisy" and necessarily violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

                        • I wonder why they won't release this....

Chesapeake, Virginia Walmart gunman had manifesto on phone: report

Andre Bing killed six coworkers at Chesapeake, Virginia Walmart store before killing himself, police say

Andre Bing, the Walmart employee who is believed to have opened fire Tuesday night on his coworkers in a Chesapeake, Virginia, store, reportedly left a manifesto on his phone.

A law enforcement source told local outlet WAVY 10 that Bing had carried a written manifesto on his phone. Fox News has yet to confirm the report with the Chesapeake Police Department.

The content of the document has not been released to the public.

I know nothing about this case and how the so-called "hate crime" law is applied, but that would really only make sense if he could somehow get a lighter sentence, unless he was just doing it as a mockery.

I've never understood the use of them. Especially in a case like this where he's essentially going to have multiple life without parole sentences when he's found guilty. Like, what does adding 5-10 years for a "hate crime" in a case like this even do?
