Won't happen. Most people who have to pay their own bills gravitate away from the far left.

Democrats were projected to retain control of the Senate on Saturday, clinching a narrow majority as they showed strength in battleground races in a daunting midterm year that handed President Biden a major victory as he looks to his next two years in office.

The final blow to Republican hopes of retaking the chamber came in Nevada, where on Saturday Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D) was projected to win reelection, edging past Adam Laxalt (R), a former state attorney general. Cortez Masto’s projected win ensures Democrats a 50th seat, with a runoff election still to come in Georgia on Dec. 6. Vice President Harris is empowered to cast tiebreaking votes in the Senate.

Control of the House was still up in the air on Saturday, as vote counting continued days after an election in which Democrats overperformed expectations in many contested areas across the country. Democratic control of the Senate dashes GOP hopes of a full takeover on Capitol Hill.

This is partially incorrect. The Dems have 48 seats. The Republicans have 49 seats. Independents have 2. 1 seat is still up for grabs. The Independents caucus with the Dems.

I believe we are aware that, with the exception of Florida, it was pretty much a ripple or a mist or, in some cases, a vacuum.

Probably won't change, however, the Governor spot isn't a done deal yet...

Kari Lake ‘Defeat’ Might Not Be Final – Recount ‘Possible’ in Next Few Days

Despite the Arizona gubernatorial election being called on Monday night, Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs’s ‘victory’ may not be final for another few weeks.

The race for Arizona Governor was tight between Hobbs Republican candidate Kari Lake, with a possible recount in the next few days.

Meanwhile, a group of citizens in Arizona released a statement calling for an entirely new election.

              According to The Washington Examiner:
A new state law allows a recount to be made in an election if votes are separated by 0.5 percentage points, widening the possibility of a recount from the previous distance of 0.1 percentage points, according to AZ Family.

48.5 if you count Bernie flipping to Democrat for presidential election cycles.

                    • Bernie Sanders is a Democrat in everything but name, he should honesty just admit it and formally switch his party affiliation already. Even if he won't do it, he really should be counted as one.

Angus King comes much closer to warranting the name of Independent, though he still falls fairly comfortably within the pale of the Democratic Party (even if on the opposite side of it as Sanders). Heck, from what I can tell he's (policy-wise) probably more of a Democrat than Sinema and Manchin (who are formally Democrats) are.

Both caucus with the Democrats, so it's clear both of them find themselves more closely aligned with the Democrats, but Bernie's convenient and temporary change in party affiliation every four years is self-servingly dishonest.

An audit can, it at least has the possibility.

                              • Republicans narrowly win House, ending full Democratic control of Congress
                                .
Republicans on Wednesday were projected to win back control of the U.S. House with a narrow majority, dealing a blow to President Biden and his agenda — even as Democrats defied predictions of a rout to limit the power of the new GOP majority.

Republicans needed to flip at least five seats to retake the House and fulfilled that goal with little room to spare after a campaign in which they sought to harness dismay at inflation, crime and the direction of the country. Their gains fell well short of the red wave they once envisioned, as Democrats countered with campaigns centered on abortion rights and fighting GOP extremism.

Congrats to the Rs in taking back the House.
