Responsible news sources regularly decline to publish falsehoods. This is the second time I've spotted you brushing aside injuries to a 70-year old. The first time was with video of the guy bleeding out of one ear after getting knocked to a sidewalk.

This time it's not a cop knocking down a septuagenarian, it's a religious whackjob accosting women going into a clinic to get their birth control and STD testing, and justifying the harassment because a small fraction of them are seeking abortions. Except that's too generous by half. The fact is they do not acknowledge who they're actually harassing.

I've tried hard to get good estimates on the percentage of women going into PP clinics for abortions vs other services, but those numbers aren't broken out. The available numbers suggest it's somewhere between 1 in 8 and 1 in 12, meaning between 7 in 8 and 11 in 12 are being harassed for no defensible reason at all.

In either case, mostly, what they're doing is preventing women from obtaining the most effective abortion-prevention service. Mostly, it makes them look like they're not about preventing abortions at all. Mostly, it makes them look like old men trying to insert themselves into the sex lives of young women, as if those young women were their personal property.

Full disclosure: I've taken, I dunno, call it just under a dozen young women to PP for their abortions ... oh wait, it was actually for birth control ... but then afterwards I took them for their abortions ... oh wait, none of them ever needed an abortion because they had birth control, unlike their friends who didn't get birth control.

Damn near guaranteed I've prevented more abortions than you have, chum, and more than this Houck freak, too, and I did it by supporting Planned Parenthood.

The Daily Wire calls the injured escort a protestor, and treats the actual protestor as a victim. Because it's propaganda, and spinning lies is what they do.

No one but you should be surprised by this.
    .
According to court documents, the defendant is alleged to have twice assaulted a man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort. The charges stem from two separate incidents both on October 13, 2021, which occurred at the Planned Parenthood Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center on Locust Street in Philadelphia, where Houck allegedly assaulted the victim, a 72-year-old man, identified in the Indictment as “B.L.,” because B.L. was a volunteer escort at the reproductive health care clinic. In the first incident, B.L. was attempting to escort two patients exiting the clinic, when the defendant forcefully shoved B.L. to the ground. In the second incident, the defendant verbally confronted B.L. and forcefully shoved B.L. to the ground in front of the Planned Parenthood center, causing injuries to B.L. that required medical attention.

I'm guessing he knocked him down the second time because the old dude could still get up after the first time. Looks like anger issues to me.

People can say whatever they like to the Daily Wire. I figure these folks are already busted and anything else they say needs to be supported by independent evidence. Short of that, I've got no reason to believe they were threatened by any FBI agents, let alone dozens of them or a SWAT team with drawn guns.

Let's see them make those claims in court, where there are consequences.

A 72 year old man gets pushed down after getting into the face of a child.

It is debated whether he suffered any injuries whatsoever.

The 72 year old even gets his civil suit tossed.

Nearly a year later a D.A. sends a SWAT task force out to raid the house and arrest the man who pushed the 72 year old rather than sending Andy and Barney with a warrant like every other time something like this happens.

    Yeah. Sounds legit to me.

A couple of years ago ... definitely.

A few months ago ... maybe.

    Now? Probably not.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Pennsylvania man has been charged for allegedly assaulting an elderly Planned Parenthood volunteer.

United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced Friday that Mark Houck of Kintnersville was charged by Indictment with a violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

The law makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate, and interfere with anyone because that person is a provider of reproductive health care.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Houck is allleged to have twice assaulted a 72-year-old man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort.

The charges stem from two separate incidents both on October 13, 2021, which occurred at the Planned Parenthood Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center on Locust Street in Philadelphia, where Houck allegedly assaulted man because was a volunteer escort at the reproductive health care clinic.

In the second incident, Houck allegedly confronted the man and shoved him to the ground in front of the Planned Parenthood center, causing injuries that required medical attention.

Houck was arrested and made his initial appearance in federal court on these charges on Friday.

“Assault is always a serious offense, and under the FACE Act, if the victim is targeted because of their association with a reproductive healthcare clinic, it is a federal crime,” said U.S. Attorney Romero. “Our Office and the Department of Justice are committed to prosecuting crimes which threaten the safety and rights of all individuals.”

“Put simply, violence is never the answer,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division. “Violating the FACE Act by committing a physical assault is a serious crime for which the FBI will work to hold offenders accountable.”

If convicted, Houck faces a maximum possible sentence of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $350,000.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anita Eve and DOJ Trial Attorney Sanjay Patel of the Civil Rights Division.

Hands up, everyone who's surprised the Daily Wire left out the age of the victim and the number of assaults.
Even if this were true (the fact that the civil case was dropped gives us reason to be suspicious), do you think the DOJ was justified to send an army of armed SWAT officers to terrorize a family?

“The kids were all just screaming,” Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie, told LifeSite. “It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

Ryan-Marie Houck told the outlet that the group of agents in SWAT gear arrived in 15 vehicles outside the family home at around 7:05 a.m. Friday morning. The agents quickly surrounded the house and began pounding on the door, demanding they open up. Houck reportedly tried to get the agents to calm down, noting that his seven children were scared, but the agents kept shouting. “[T]hey had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house,” his wife said.

Houck and his wife asked the agents why they were there, to which the agents allegedly replied that they were there to arrest him. His wife asked for a warrant, but “they said that they were going to take him whether they had a warrant or not,” Ryan-Marie Houck recalled. She protested, saying that what the agents were doing was tantamount to kidnapping. Only then did they provide a copy of the warrant.

I must acknowledge that the raid portion of this story is presented by one side only, the Houck's side, so my mind isn't completely made up here yet on the details.

But after multiple instances of agency overreach and intentional terrorizing people for minor offenses, I wouldn't be surprised.

Apparently he is being charged with shoving a 72-year-old to the ground, who "required medical attention," during a protest outside an abortion clinic.

I wonder when was the last time someone charged with what appears to be a simple assault had 15 vehicles and a SWAT team conduct a raid to arrest them at their home. Around here they typically send a pair of deputy sheriffs to serve the warrant.

    This is political revenge:

According to the warrant, shared by LifeSite reporter Patrick Delaney, Houck’s arrest stems from an indictment on charges of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act of 1994, specifically for “attack[ing] a patient escort.”

According to his wife, Houck was providing sidewalk counseling at abortion centers in Philadelphia last year, and had taken his then 12-year-old son. On multiple occasions over weeks, a “pro-abortion protestor” allegedly shouted vulgarities and insults at the boy. Houck repeatedly told the protestor not to speak to his son, but the protestor continued to encroach on the boy’s personal space, still spewing vulgarities. Finally, Houck shoved the man away, causing him to fall down. The protestor was not injured, but tried to sue Houck. Though the case was thrown out this summer, it was somehow picked up by the DOJ, Ryan-Marie Houck said.
So a pro death supporter gets in the face of Houck's son, and he basically pushed the guy on his butt, and that required a raid like this?
